2 years later
Cora squeezed Joey's hand tightly, scared to go on the Ferris wheel. She had a massive fear of heights. Joey looked down at her with a reassuring smile. She instantly felt relieved, her heart rate slowing down from its fast pace. It was soon their turn and Cora looked up at Joey one last time before they stepped on.
The sun was setting nicely over the LA skyline, which was a very scenic view from the Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica Pier. The two lovers went to the pier for a date, there was no particular reason for it, but it seemed like the perfect day. It was a Friday night, and Joey had missed Cora since she'd been at work all week and they hadn't hung out. They had just had dinner at their favorite place, Chipotle, and traditionally went to get frozen yogurt afterward.
It was a bit chilly, being the end of October. Joey noticed that Cora was cold and wrapped his arm around her waist as she leaned her head on his shoulder. Everything was perfect. Cora had been too involved in work and her true love that the shadows she had been seeing disappeared. Life had been easy for the two. They often went on little dates and reminded the other of the love for them.
They soon came to the top of the Ferris wheel as Cora's heart raced faster. Joey comfortingly rubbed her arm and hugged her tight. She soon got over her fear, at least for the moment. He smiled down at her, and she smiled back. They leaned in and their lips met. This was the type of kiss that was like magic. Not just a 'have a nice day at work' or 'see you later' type, but the type that reminded them that they had found their soul mate. The one they truly loved, and would never find anyone more superior, would never leave each other's side. The kind that said "I love you" without having to actually say the words. They pulled away and said the words, just in case.
"I love you Cora."
"I love you too Joey."

Josh's POV
I watched the door eagerly as the guard came to open the latch for the very last time. Today I would be free. Free to go back to my everyday life. Free from this Hell of a place that has been my home for three years. And I was very excited.
The door opened and I was instantly handcuffed. Something I hated, yet was used to. The two guards led me to another room in which the head officer was in. The room was white and cold, and had two chairs and a table. I was sat down at one of the chairs while the officer started talking to me. I mindlessly agreed to some terms and signed some papers. God just let me out already.
Soon a lady came in with a change of clothes for me. I generously took them and headed to the bathroom. I quickly changed and made my way back to the room. I would've made a run for it right there, but I would've gotten in trouble, this way is quicker.
The officer and some other people were in there. They talked to me for a little while, and I was finally able to leave. They handcuffed me one last time and led me out of the building. I put on a proud smile as I walked through the hallways. I soon saw the door and was let free.
I was allowed to take my own car home. I got in the driver's seat with one thought on my mind. Cora. Here I come sweetheart.
