If you want to leave her, leave her breathless. If you want to lie, lie next to her. If you want to let go, let go of your pride and pursue her.
"Inati!" Tez and Phina yelled running into my recovery room after I'd woken up from surgery making my heart flutter at their voices.
"Hey, guys," I whispered with a sad smile knowing that this had thrown a huge wrench into the plans for the weekend, "I'm sorry about your birthday."
"It's okay, we've got other birthdays" the twins smiled crawling up onto my bed and curling up next to her.
"I know, but Grandma planned an awesome party for you two" I spoke with a sad smile still on my face, wanting to be able to pick them up and hold them tight to my chest knowing that they could have lost me today.
"We're going to have it when you get out of the hospital" Will smiled as he walked into the room making my anxiety calm more.
"Do you have the car here?" I asked hoping he did, so that we could at least give them their birthday presents.
"No, I rode in the ambulance with you, and your parents brought the kids in the truck" Will replied knowing why I had asked, he gave me an apologetic smile because the kids would have loved them.
"Alright, then you two get your birthday present at the party instead of now" I sighed looking down at the twins who were still laying in the crook of my body, Tez was on the side that I had been shot and he was being careful not to disturb my arm.
"What did you get us?" Tez asked looking at me with excitement causing me to chuckle and shake my head at him.
"You'll just have to wait to see what we got you" Will smirked sitting down in the chair next to my bed taking my free hand in his; I could feel my little family was whole with William now and I truly felt like me and my kids could face anything.
Before I could ask where my parents and brothers were they walked through the door. I smiled at them all causing the worried looks they wore to wash away and be replaced with smiles. It had been a crazy day and all I cared about was that everyone was safe.
"Can y'all do me a favor and take the twins to dinner?" I asked as I heard their tiny tummies grumble for food, now that I knew everyone was safe I just wanted to rest and be able to talk to Will because this was a lot to come into within the first week of them being together.
"Sure thing, Bebita" my mom smiled before my dad and brothers could object, and we watched the men in my life get annoyed at having to leave me.
Mark and Joe lifted the kids up into their arms like they weighed nothing and walked out the door after our parents. I smiled as I watched my kids squirm for joy in their uncles arms. I looked over at Will to see he was already looking at me, and I smiled.
"How did you know all that medical stuff when the EMT's were talking to you?" I asked the question that had been burning in the back of my mind for awhile , I watched him bashfully look away for a moment before answering.
