Hello my lovelies!!! Some exciting news to update you all on. As the end of Matchpoint inevitably gets closer, I have decided to create a spin off. At the beginning, when I was first writing Matchpoint, Holly was a character that was rather irrelevant in my eyes. She was meant to only appear a few times simply to piss Clove off. Initially she was going to be a threat to Clove's relationship with Dom, a character who knew about the secret relationship and was going to announce it to the world or in other words be the leak. However, as I began to write more, I found myself liking the character of Holly. She's sassy and knows not just what she wants but what she deserves. It felt unjust to turn her into this villain who was going to just make Clove's life a misery, especially considering Clove was already going to struggle with the conflict between her and Ladley. Choosing to turn Holly into a supportive friend to Clove has got to be one of my biggest changes when writing this novel, but also probably one of my favourite changes. It enabled for further characterisation for Jayce and a group of friends who could all enjoy each others company. I hold a lot of love for Holly and because of that it is my great pleasure to announce "Playing the Game". This will be a novel focused on Holly's life and her journey in the tennis world (and maybe a special guest). Even though the outcome of her character changed in Matchpoint, I always had a backstory for her, which is something I'm looking forward to sharing in this new story. So, there you have it!!
