I'm sitting on the floor in Holly's hotel room. Jayce is on the bed, and Holly is beside him. For someone who just lost in the semi-finals, Holly doesn't seem to be bothered. Instead, she's curled up into Jayce, her head laying in his lap as he softly strokes her hair.
"He still hasn't messaged." I huff, staring down at my phone, continuously refreshing it in hopes to hear from Dom. When I left the arena, I immediately tried to find him, but I watched him be hustled into a car and driven off campus, likely to an interview room. Beside him was my father, a man who did not look too impressed to be sitting in the car with someone who just outwardly disowned you.
I thought that by now, I would've heard from Dom, especially after the bombshell he dropped. Surely, this means he and I can finally be a team once more.
"There is probably a big conversation happ-" Jayce doesn't even finish his sentence. There's a knock at the door, and instantly, I'm on my feet, racing to it without a second thought.
When my hand reaches for the doorknob, I'm immediately hit with a cool zap of electricity. I can tell who's behind that door before it's even open.
And when I finally do open the door, I'm met with those dazzling green orbs. The ones that have swallowed me whole many times before, just as they are now.
My insides might be just as flammable as his hair because there's definitely something igniting within me.
Before I know it, I've thrown myself into his arms, body curling into him as I inhale his familiar scent.
His hands rest against my hips, squeezing softly as he holds me as close to him as possible. It's like our bodies are two puzzle pieces that have slots right into place. We're meant to be together.
I'm so caught up in his scent, his touch, his warmth that I don't even notice the figure standing behind him.
Long lashes, a small smile, she's looking at us like we're her prized possessions.
"Stack?" I whisper, looking right at her. Then I stand back, glancing between the two. "What are you both doing here?"
Dom smirks, thumb brushing my cheek softly. "A friend let me know you were here." I notice Dom's eyes slide over to Jayce, who grins wildly. Sneaky bitch. Even Holly is staring at Jayce in awe. "And it was about time I came and found my coach."
It takes me a moment to register his words, but when I do, my head snaps over to him, eyes wide, mouth parted.
"You mean..." I begin, but Stack is already nodding excitedly.
"We walked out. Alistor tried to offer us a deal, but we said we won't take it. Dom's best chance is with you. It always has been," Stack rests her hand on Dom's shoulder lovingly. "We'll take whatever penalty we have to, as long as we have this team back together."
"Team?" I whisper.
"Everyone walked, Clove, Paul and Philip included...and well..." Dom glanced back at Stack with a smile.
"So did your mum. Hence, why she wasn't at the match today." Stack winks, and I don't know what to think. Does this mean Mother has finally come to her senses? Has she accepted that I am the best option?
"So...this is...it's..." My eyes drift up to Dom's, seeing the way those green eyes sparkle. A sight I haven't seen in months.
"Final? Confirmed?" Dom whispers, a smirk gracing those pink lips. "Yeah, Clove, it's happening."
I don't even realise I'm squealing until I'm being lifted by Dom and swung around in circles. I've never been more excited in my life. I'm overcome with relief.
