Hello, my lovelies!
Here we are, the end of Matchpoint.
It doesn't feel real! I've been writing this story since the start of 2024. The idea came to me whilst watching Jannik play in the Australian Open of 2024. At first, I knew little about this fantastic player. I'd watched him play a few times, but all I knew was that he was a top ranked player. Not number 1, but he had the prospects of becoming one. Then Jannik won the Aus Open, a moment that was phenomenal to me, this person I'd never seen, a player I hardly even knew the name of, and yet here he was. There came the idea of Dominic Fraser. And yes, for those who may have wondered, the name was a twist on Dominic Fike.

So, I had this character, similar, but not the same as Jannik. I wanted a hothead. Someone who could get under a lead characters skin, but in all the best ways possible.

And there came Clove. In the next few days, I will be publishing the initial drafts for some of the most monumental moments in this novel. From the first time Dom and Clove met to the final win. I'll publish initial ideas, like the relationship Dom and Clove were meant to have, as well as characters that were meant to exist or not!

I'm doing this because as a passionate reader myself, I always wonder how authors came to the final decisions that they did. It fascinates me, so I thought, why note share my own journey.

Over time, this novel will likely undergo some editing, as all books do.

But for now, my attention turns to Holly. This may be the end of Dom and Clove's story, for now, but they'll always be present. And, of course, being Holly's closest friends, Dom and Clove will feature in Holly's novel.
