I look over the back of the sofa and hear the door open. Standing there is a guy who, for some reason, feels strangely familiar. Quickly, I duck down as he looks my way and activates my civilian trigger, which I, for some reason, haven't activated yet. As I stand up, I might stare at the guy a little longer than for it to be low key... maybe... I don't know. "That was a bit over an hour," I commented, a tiny, whiny bit annoyed that said hour was three. "I could have gone with the others to the hospital, waited for Osamu to get out of surgery, and later made my way back here to fix the room and still have time. I would have gone there after, but you sent me the 'we're almost there, wait for us' text." I continue not noticing the familiar guy looking at me in the same puzzled look I gave him just a minute ago. "Yeah, yeah, I can tell you that he's gonna be fine if that helps at all? Anyway, this is Hyuse. He will be staying in that room for... an unspecified time."
Hyuse? Hyuse... that name sounded so familiar. Who did she know that was named that? Did she know him? Shrugging it off, she introduces herself and asks Jin-ni if she should show him his room while he orders pizza, already knowing that no one would be in the mood for cooking when one of their agents was in a coma on top of everything that had already happened. "Uhm, I don't think you will find a restaurant open in a few days...". "Right," she says while signaling Hyuse to follow her up the stairs, not waiting for him before starting to walk up the stairs. Walking in the corridor, she stops at the door right after her own, opening it to see a basic furnished bedroom with a bed along the wall parallel to the door, a desk with a chair directly along the wall to the right, and a wardrobe to the left. Beside it hung a TV facing the foot of the bed. "I know it's quite bland, but when the state of the city gets better, we'll take you out for a bit of clothes shopping as well as looking for other necessities that you will need," Himari says before pausing, remembering something. "Oh, I never told you my name, did I? My name is Himari Jin, I'm the little sister of the guy you came here with," I say, looking up at him and meeting his blue, almost green eyes. Recognition flashed in his eyes, and for a split second, they looked like they were beginning to fill up with emotions before his face became neutral once again, and he closed his mouth that had seemed to speak whether he wanted it to or not. For approximately two seconds, two seconds that seemed like an eternity in his eyes, he composed himself before saying a quick thanks, bringing me back to reality from his deep, somehow familiar eyes. Quickly, I finished telling him where the bathroom was before leaving him to his own devices.
I walked, seeing that the others had come home as well. To absolutely no one's surprise, I find Karasuma down in the living room, sitting on the couch, telling Konami something that no one else but herself would believe. I walk down and sit beside him so that I will be able to watch the live comic show from a better view. "Hey! Himari, did you know this?!" Konami says with practically stars in her eyes while looking at me, and then down at the battery in her hand. "What?" I ask before glancing at Karasuma's poker face. He looks at me with the face everyone but Konami seems to be familiar with, 'play along'. "Karasuma said that if you twirl a battery long enough, it will recharge. Isn't that great? That way you don't need to buy new ones all the time!" she said, excitement evident in her voice, and I'm not even going to lie, I'm impressed by the ideas that Karasuma can think of just to fool her. I wonder if he has a whole page dedicated to pranking Konami on his notes app. "No, I've never heard of that, it's cool though. How does it work?" I question, wondering if he even has an explanation thought out." It didn't seem like Konami had asked that tough, as she immediately turned towards Karasuma. "Well, when the battery spins the ever-changing directions and the south and north poles recharge the battery." He stated so confidently that I almost fell for it myself. I look over at the victim in this situation with a tiny bit of sympathy as I see her face light up in amazement and although I would like to know how long she is going to sit there spinning that battery I pull myself from the couch and out towards the training simulation rooms where I find Usami sitting giggling while seemingly creating some new simulation.
"Hey, do you have any new technology for me to try out? I ask. Since my trion is more stable than the normal person, I'm always the test dummy for new triggers. Not that I'm complaining, this is something or anything. Being the test dummy means that I get to upgrade my trigger to the newest versions all the time, and I will have the chance to try out the new types of weapons that HQ wants to create. "Huh? Oh! Yeah, I had almost forgotten, but Tamakoma 1 came back with a completely new trigger from this last expedition, and I don't want anyone else to try it out since I had a hard time figuring it out." She paused, saving her work on the computer and searching through one of her cabinets before pulling out the new trigger. It doesn't look like our triggers usually look. It almost looks like a bracelet in the colour of pure white with light blue details on it. I'm not sure if I would have guessed that it was a trigger if not for Usami telling me, it's really pretty. "Here, walk into the right training room. I'll activate it for you in case something happens," she says, pointing to the right of the two doors leading to two separate simulation training rooms. I nod before walking through the door. The door closes behind me, and I feel the atmosphere change when Usami activates the unlimited trion mode. "Trigger on," I mutter, becoming confused when nothing happens. "Does it not have a translator built in?" I question Usami knowing the microphones in the room will be able to pick it up. "No, but it's from Leoforio, you know their language, right?" She answers through the sound speakers that are set up around the whole room. "Yeah, I might be a bit rusty though."
I sigh, "ενεργοποίηση," I mutter before I feel the trigger activate and change my appearance. My long blond hair went to a shorter hairstyle with my front pieces tied back and out of the way. My clothes were now exchanged for a uniform similar to Kuga's black trigger uniform, but in the same pure white and light blue accents as the trigger case had. I move around a bit, feeling through it to see if I can notice any fault or anything indicating that it could be dangerous. When I don't find anything, I look up at the camera and nod. Soon, without any delay, one of Usamis' specialized marmods appears in the middle of the room. I start moving around before focusing on the trigger, looking through the arsenal of weapons it has.
•••*•••
It's been about thirty minutes since I left Karasuma and Konami on the couch, and Usami and I just walked back into the living room after I've fought Marmod after Marmod, trying out the trigger and its weapons. It's safe to say I like more than just the look of it. I'm not going to lie, if I could, I would snatch it up for myself. The view that greets us when we walk in makes me want to die...
