It's Too Late

Chapter 9

Emily's POV

"Hey, Emily, wake up", Rocky whispered, "We're at your house." I lifted my head that was on Rocky's shoulder. Ross was still sleeping on my lap. He's so cute when he's sleeping. I shook him awake while Rocky woke Callie up.

"Hey, Emily, here's my number. We should hang out tomorrow", Rydel said handing me her number.

"You should just spend the night tonight", I suggested, "You too Callie."

"I'm down. I was going to stay over anyway", Callie said still half asleep.

"Okay, I'll go back to the hotel and get my clothes then I'll be over", Rydel said. We got out of the van thanking everyone for the awesome day at Water World then walked into my house. Right when I walked through the door my mom called.

"Hey, Sweetie, your dad left for Albuquerque this morning to visit your uncle Mark, and he'll be back in about a week. I got a call from work today, and I have to be in Omaha for a few days. I left the check book in case you need food or anything like that", she said.

"Okay, Callie and Rydel are staying with me tonight", I said.

"Okay, I don't want to interrupt love you bye", she said.

"Love you", I said hanging up. My mom left on business trips all the time, but my dad rarely ever left the state so things will be very weird with out him around. What if I blow a tire or something. I guess I could figure it out myself.

"Cool! A house to ourselves, now I'm going to go and shower. I smell like a hotel pool threw up on the sun", Callie said walking into my bathroom. Since we only have one bathroom with one shower I have to wait until Callie gets out. I took off my tank top and called to order pizza. Seconds after Callie came out of the shower the pizza man showed up at the door. I paid him then stuck the pizzas in the oven so they wouldn't get too cold while we wait for Rydel to get here. I ran into the bathroom to take a shower. As I was walking up the stairs to put some clothes on I heard Rydel walk through the door. I got dressed into a pair of sweat pants and a tank top then went back down stairs.

We ate pizza and ice cream while watching movies. Callie passed out during the second movie, then Rydel passed out during Gone Girl, which was only our third movie, but I was still wide awake for some reason. I was scrolling through Tumblr until I got a text. Who would be texting me at this hour? I don't have any other friends besides Callie and she's pretty much dead right now.

Ross- Come outside;)

I got up and saw that Ross was standing in front of my door. I opened the door, and he immediately crashed his lips onto mine. After a few minutes of making out, Ross puled away.

"I didn't get to kiss you all day. It was so hard not to", he said kissing me again. "Is everyone asleep?" I nodded my head. "I figured. Go change. We're gonna go live the night life." I ran up stairs and changed into short, and a tank top paired with a flannel and a black beanie. I wore my old charcoal Converse. I grabbed my phone then went outside where Ross was standing by his car. I ran and jumped into his arms wrapping my legs around his torso kissing him hard on the lips. I don't know what came over me, but I couldn't help but show my inner dark side.

We drove around to downtown Denver. Ross parked and grabbed my hand walking down the small streets. The only light there was were the city street lights creating an orange glow. I found a rainbow piano and started playing All Night. Once Ross got over the shock that I knew how to play piano, he started singing and dancing in the middle of the walkway street. When we were done there was a guy playing guitar. Ross and I stopped and started dancing together. Ross and I spent the next few hours dancing to random music in the street and just having fun. Ross brought out a side of me that I have seen before. There was love, passion, freedom. Ross slowed down and we started walking back to his car.

"Thank you, Ross", I said. He just gave me a confused look. "For showing me how to let loose and have fun."

"Oh, well, maybe we should do it again sometime", he said wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I wrapped my arm around his waist, and we peacefully walked back to his car. Ross drove back to my house and parked in the driveway. I leaned over and kissed Ross that turned into a mini make out session in the front seats of his car.

"I should probably go before the girls wake up and notice I'm gone", I whispered not wanting to leave. Ross nodded kissing me a few more times before I got out of the car. I waved goodbye then disappeared inside my house. When I got inside I changed back into my sweats that I was wearing before then went back downstairs and laid back on the couch like I never even left. I laid my head on Rydel's legs and sleep instantly took over.

I woke up hearing Rydel and Callie laughing in the kitchen. Is that bacon I smell? I got up and walked into the kitchen to investigate. There was indeed bacon.

"Hey, it's about time you wake up. You slept like you stayed out half the night", Rydel laughed. Did she know I left?

"She's just a really heavy sleeper", Callie said. Maybe they don't know anything. We ate breakfast, then I got a text from Ross.

Ross- Last night was fun;) Can we hang out again today?

Emily-Sure! You wanna come over and swim?

Ross- Will it just be us?;)

Emily- If you want it to be;)

Ross- I'll definitely be there;)

Rydel, Callie, and I spent the rest of the morning, technically afternoon, talking and having fun. Rydel and Callie left my house around three in the afternoon. After they left, I texted Ross to come over. I can't wait to spend some alone time with him.
