Ezra's POV

"Wes, babe, who's at the door?" her sweet voice filled the room as she showed up behind Wes.

"Aria, hi..." I say, slightly awkwardly.

She smiles uncomfortably at me and turned to Wes. "W-who is this?" she asked quietly, seeming unsure.

"Uh, it's just a childhood friend." Wes says seeming convincing.

"Oh, okay. Well it's nice to meet you, I'm Aria." she says, now smiling confidently.

I took in a sharp breath and my head began to spin. What was happening right now? She didn't remember me?

Wes gave me a look that said 'I'll explain everything. Just shut up" and I followed his glances.

"Uh, my name is Ezra. Nice to meet you too." I said wincing, so pained by the idea of her not remembering me.

"Hey, babe, Ezra and I are going to go for lunch. I'd invite you, but I know you have class soon. I'll talk to you later, okay?" he said sweetly as she nodded. He then leaned over and kissed her cheek and she smiled too.

As he closed the door behind him, I immediately burst out in a fit of rage.

"You're dating Aria?! She doesn't remember me?! What the hell, Wes?!" I demanded, now yelling.

"Look, dude, it's not what you think." he said calmly, sitting down at a nearby bench.

"What the hell is it then?!" I said, still completely furious.

"Okay, so Aria moved here in mid-July. I met her in September. But in between when she came here and when I met her, she had a terrible accident. She was in a car crash and she suffered from severe amnesia, Ezra." he said quietly, almost as if he was afraid anyone would hear.

I took a sharp breath and nodded, signaling him to continue.

"She doesn't remember anything after the time around when Alison went missing. She doesn't even know that Ali went missing, and then came back. All she knows are that her friends are all happy and away at their respective colleges. And I met her in our photography class... And I just couldn't help myself. I have always had feelings for her, even from when you two were dating. And I knew now was my chance, to finally get the girl..." He said, pausing to look up at me.

"S-so she doesn't remember me? A-and you two are dating now?" I asked, still angry but on the verge of tears.

"Yeah... And I didn't want to bring her to a bad place by explaining you to her. And I think we should keep it that way. She's really happy now, Ezra. We're happy, together." He said a little more sternly now.

"W-what? So you don't want me to tell her who I really am?" I demanded. "Wesley, I'm still so in love with that girl!" I yelled again now. I just couldn't process what was happening.

"It's for her happiness. And for mine, Ezra. I finally have the girl of my dreams, and I'm not going to let you ruin it. Okay? So unless you're going to play along with my story, you better stay the hell away from us, okay?" he said standing up to leave

"No, Wes, it's not okay! You're supposed to be my brother, you're supposed to be my blood! But you didn't call to tell me that Aria had amnesia, you didn't care to tell me you were in love with her when we were dating, the list goes on! " I said furiously, now inches away from his face.

"Just stay away from her. And me." He said, turning away towards the dorm.

I just stood there in silence, unable to fathom what had just happened. I knew that I didn't want to mess with Wes, because he almost always came through with his threats, but I also didn't want to let Aria slip away again.

I sighed as I made my way to the nearest bar. I had no idea what I was going to do, but I knew I needed to get Aria back.

ARIA'S POV

I sat in silence as I drummed my fingers on the desk. I was so confused by what had just happened. That guy, Ezra, seemed so familiar. Like someone that I knew so well, but also not at all. There was something about him, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

I sighed, defeated and confused, as I prepped my books for my upcoming class.

As I was getting up to leave, Wes walked through the door. He had a look on his face that I had never seen before; it was so violent, so aggressive, and I had been scared.

The look then changed to surprise.

"Babe, I thought you were in class?" he said, almost suspiciously.

"Uh, yeah, I was just getting ready to leave. What happened?" I said, desperate to get some answers.

"Oh, nothing, Ezra just had to cancel his plans, he needed to rush back home for something." he said quickly, seeming as though he didn't want to talk about it. I nodded slowly, so confused at what was just happening.

I kissed my boyfriend goodbye as I made my way to class. On my long commute to the class which was all the way across campus, I crossed the familiar bar that all the students went to. I saw a curly haired man sitting alone, a scotch tumbler in his hand.

As I made my way around the corner, I realized the man was Ezra, and he had tears streaming heavily down his face.

What was happening?

I wanted to go in and get some answers, but I was already almost late for class.

I sighed. I trusted Wes when he told me everything was fine. I made my way to class, already exhausted by the day's events.
