A FEW MONTHS LATER
EZRA'S POV
I awoke in a large bed, much larger then my own, wrapped in purple bed sheets. I immediately recognized the room, linking the motivational quotes all along the walls to my girlfriend's peppy personality.
I stood up, and felt the room immediately begin to spin. There was a pounding pain in my temples and I realized I was just wearing plaid boxers. I was alone in a mostly-purple room, covered inn motivational posters, wearing only plaid boxers with a massive hangover. What was happening?
I grabbed my T-Shirt from on the floor and threw it on, and swung open the door, revealing an impeccably spotless apartment.
"Good morning sweetheart!" my girlfriend said, way too cheery to be hungover, her focus on the plate of pancakes in front of her. Her perfectly manicured fingers were adjusting their placement, resulting in a perfect tower of pancakes.
"What happened last night?" I asked groggily, as I began to prepare a pot of coffee. As I reached over to the jar of ground coffee on the counter to my right, another perfectly manicured hand removed it gently.
"Already done, sweets!" She said cheerily, handing me a cup of coffee.
I nodded and managed to grumble out a 'thank you' before taking two Advils and sitting down.
"You went out with Hardy and some college buddies last night. You called me at 2 am, claiming that you needed a ride. So I went to pick you up and brought you here." She said, her high pitched voice ringing to my core. I nodded as I began to poke at the perfectly cooked food in front of me, sighing at how the house was filled with such perfection.
Emma and I had been dating for over 5 weeks now, and she was very different from the girls I usually dated. She was peppy, very Type-A, and overly-organized. Everything she did was absolutely perfect, Not a flaw in sight.
She flipped her red hair from one shoulder to the other, and sipped her tea.
"You don't seem to be eating much... You don't like my cooking?" she asked, a tone of sadness in her voice. Her lips pouted and her eyes drooped, as though I had just given her the worst news of her life.
"No, love, that's not it... I'm just really hungover, that's all..." I say, trying to remain calm as she attempted to pick a fight over more stupidities. Emma was great, but she had many more flaws than she had upsides. I missed Aria, and it was getting harder to sneak away and see her. Emma had some jealousy issues, and if she found out i was spending a lot of time with anyone but her, she would freak. It was so bad that Aria's name on my found was actually Oliver, a so-called co-worker of mine, according to Emma.
"Well maybe you shouldn't have had so much to drink." she said angrily, slamming her plate on the table. She began to immediately clean all the dishes that were on the table, throwing out all the food that was on them.
"Love please, let's not do this, I love your cooking. You know that." I say, gently rubbing her arm, desperate to get her to calm down. Instead of responding, the red-head just ignored me and continued scrubbing aggressively at the dishes before her.
i sighed, annoyed with our constant bickering. I realized that I wasn't the one at fault here, and immediately began to pick up my stuff. I grabbed my keys, wallet, and shoes, and walked out of the apartment complex wearing nothing but a ratty t-shirt and plaid boxers.
I made my way to my car and drove back to my place, desperate to just get to bed again on this early Sunday morning. I pulled up to my complex, a pounding still in my head and barely any coffee in my system.
I opened the door to my apartment, expecting to see nothing but a couch and a bed, but instead was greeted with three familiar faces.
"Where have you been? It's nearly 11. Also, why the hell are you in your boxers?" Hanna asked, speaking loudly. The other girls giggled slightly, seeming uncomfortable to look at me.
"I'm really sorry, Ezra, but until you put some real pants on I can't look at you. Seeing my former teacher in his boxers is giving me the creeps. Sorry!" Emily said softly, staring at her coffee cup on the table.
"Uh, I'd offer you some coffee but it seems like you've already made yourself comfortable...." I manage to say, scratching the back of my head, confused at this.
"The pants!" Emily and Spencer cried simultaneously, while hanna just giggled, leaning her coffee cup against her chin.
I nodded and frantically searched for a pair of pants in my drawers, throwing them on as soon as i found them. When they were finally able to look at me, they motioned toward the empty seat on the couch.
"You know I love you girls, but may I ask what you're doing here? How did you even get in?" I asked, still surprised at their comfort levels here.
"Back when you and Aria were together, she sent us here a lot to get a forgotten phone, or a wallet, or to pick her up when you, uh, you know, when she..." Spencer began trailing off. I furrowed my eyebrows before Hanna sighed and finished her sentence.
"When she trashed your apartment." Hanna said smoothly, her long nails tapping against the ceramic mug in front of her. "We know where the extra key is, so we let ourselves in. We need to talk, Fitz." she continued.
I nodded slowly, still incredibly confused.
"You and Aria are soulmates! you need to date, the connection is undeniable." Spencer said, looking at me with a look on her face saying 'You know I'm right'.
i shook my head and ran my hands through my hair.
"I have a girlfriend, and she has a boyfriend. We're friends and nothing more."I say calmly, unsure of how hey would respond.
"Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is what I call total B.S" Hanna stated, rolling her eyes. When she realized the look of confusion on my face, she rolled her eyes once more before she began to explain herself.
"How long have you been together with this so-called girlfriend of yours?" She asked sternly, one eyebrow raised.
"Uh, a few months..." I said quietly, unsure of where she was going with this and why she cared.
"Months?! And there's not ONE picture of you two together, not one. And I used your washroom earlier, jesus it was filthy! No one with a girlfriend would keep a bathroom in that condition." hanna stated again, seeming indefinitely not fazed.
"I am in a relationship, Hanna, whether you believe me or not!" i said, a headache still pounding in my temples. All i wanted was to go to sleep, let alone have to deal with this interrogation.
"Okay, okay, we won't keep you much longer. We just wanted to let you know that you need to act fast if you do have feelings for Aria, which we definitely think you do. We can't tell you why, because it's her place to tell you, not ours, but just do it. Okay, we should get going, but don't lie to yourself, Ezra. You're in love with her and she's obviously in love with you, so just do it. Listen to what your heart tells you." Emily said sincerely, as they all stood up to leave. I nodded and said my goodbyes as they slowly piled out of the door, leaving me alone to my jumbled thoughts.
I knew that I didn't really love Emma. But I also knew that being with Aria probably wasn't the best idea either. I was confused, exhausted, and I needed to talk to Aria to find out her big news. I sighed and decided ultimately to just crawl into bed, and that I would deal with this later.
{Hi everyone. Don't hate me, I know it's bad! I was really jumbled today, and I'm not really sure where I was going with this chapter, but they'll get better, promise. So vote and leave feedback, let me know what you want to see in this fanfic! hope you're enjoying it!:)}
