Ezra's POV

I felt the crumpled piece of paper in my pocket. I immediately took it out and typed the number into my phone.

"Hello?" a velvety-soft voice said from the other side.

"Hey, Poppy. It's Ezra, and I was wondering if we could meet up again?"I asked, fidgeting with my scotch tumbler.

"Ah, so things didn't work out with Avery I'm guessing?" she said, a snarky tone in her voice.

"Her name is Aria, and no not exactly. But I plan to make things work. And I need your help. " I said sternly, still dazed at what was happening today.

There was a long pause on the other end, and she took in a deep breath. "Fine, I'll do it. Starbucks at 8 tonight." she stated before she hung up the phone.

I put my phone back in my pocket and took a big sip of my drink. I was upset, sad, confused, irritated– every emotion under the sun. I thought back to my conversation with Ella, and wondered why she didn't tell me about the accident. She had to have known, right? Who would they have contacted, then?

I shook my head, even more confused now. I looked around the room when my eyes stopped on the clock; it was already 7;50. I began to make my way to Starbucks, tears streaming down my face and the cold wind nipping at my nose.

When I finally reached Starbucks, an annoyed Poppy sat at a table, two drinks beside her. I immediately rushed towards her, and sat down.

"So what happened?" she asked, seeming genuinely intrigued.

"Uh, well, long story short, she's dating another guy. But this guy won't let me... see her." I said, trying to seem confident with the tale of lies I was telling. "And I need to know her class schedule, so I can catch her alone." I said sadly.

A look of concern crossed her face as she reached out and grabbed my hand.

"Awe, sweetie! Of course I'll get you her schedule. True love triumphs all." she said, turning towards her purse as she began looking for her phone.

"I'll ask Ainsley. She has a bunch of classes with her, okay?" she said, a concerned smile on her face.

I nodded and sipped my drink. I immediately grimaced as I set it back down on the table.

"God, what is that? Hot water and dirt?" I asked, wiping my mouth.

"Um, no! It's a soy latte, no sugar. It's way better for you than normal coffee." a shocked Poppy said. I laughed as I shook my head.

"Well, whatever it is, it's terrible." I say, still grimacing. She giggled as she typed quickly on her iPhone.

"Ah! Here we go. So, okay, Aria has class in the GD building tomorrow at 10 am." she said cheerily, still looking down at her phone.

A smile crossed my face. "Great! Wait, what's the GD building?" I asked, a tone of confusion slowly lingering in my voice.

A look of shock crossed Poppy's face.

"Are you serious?! Your girlfriend is an art student at the top art school in the country and you don't know what GD stands for?!" she demanded. I looked down awkwardly, unable to tell whether she was kidding or not. "You're actually a disgrace. But I'll tell you anyway, because I'm a nice person." she said, now seeming silly. I smiled and she nodded. "Graphic Design. The GD hall isn't too far from here, actually, so it shouldn't be so hard to find your way. Okay? I have to run, I have plans tonight. But I'll talk to you tomorrow, alright?" she said, smiling and standing to leave. I smiled as she left, content with what was happening.

Aria's POV

I sat on my bed staring at the ceiling. I was confused; there was such a sense of familiarity when I talked to Ezra, it almost seemed like an old friend. But I hadn't met him before, had i?

I used to live in Rosewood, and that's where Wes was from too. So if it's a childhood friend, Ezra must be from there too. I probably saw him around town or something, it is a small world after all.

I tossed and turned, desperate to fall asleep. It was nearly 1 am, and I had an early class tomorrow. I fell asleep with thoughts of my boyfriend and friends, trying to keep myself happy.
