We fought our way out of Victor's estate, Ryker leading us to the safe house. The documents were our only hope to bring down Nightshade.
As we arrived, Ryker's hands trembled unlocking the door.
"Inside," he whispered.
The room was dimly lit, files stacked everywhere.
Zade's eyes scanned.
"Where are the documents?"
Ryker pointed.
"Computer. Encrypted files."
Axel's fingers flew across the keyboard.
"Downloading now."
Suddenly, the computer beeped.
"Encryption broken," Axel said.
Files spilled onto the screen.
Nightshade's blueprint.
Government and corporate involvement.
Horror gripped me.
"This is bigger than we thought."
Zade's face set.
"We'll expose them."
Ryker's eyes welled.
"I'm sorry...for my family's sins."
Axel's expression softened.
"You're making it right, Ryker."
We transferred the files to a secure server.
Time to go public.
But Victor's reach was long.
"We have to move," Axel warned.
We left the safe house, heading for a secure broadcast location.
As we arrived, a news van waited.
Senator Jenkins and CEO of OmniCorp arrived, flanked by guards.
"You'll never broadcast this," Jenkins sneered.
Zade stood tall.
"We have evidence. Nightshade's over."
The broadcast began.
Documents flashed on screen.
The world watched in shock.
Nightshade's secrets spilled.
Protests erupted globally.
Governments scrambled.
Corporations denied.
But the truth was out.
Victor's face appeared on screen.
"You'll pay for this betrayal," he snarled.
Suddenly, the broadcast cut.
Transmission lost.
"What happened?" I asked.
Axel's face grim.
"We've been hacked."
Ryker's eyes widened.
"Father's counterattack."
