We escaped Victor's estate, but danger lurked.
Ryker led us to the safe house.
"Documents are inside," he said.
Zade's eyes scanned the area.
"Secure?"
Ryker nodded.
"Best I could do."
Axel positioned himself.
"I'll keep watch."
I followed Ryker inside.
Files and recordings filled the room.
"Evidence against Nightshade," Ryker said.
I began scanning documents.
Names, dates, locations.
The scope was staggering.
Suddenly, Axel burst in.
"We've got company."
Zade drew his gun.
"Who?"
Axel's face twisted.
"Senator Jenkins...with guards."
Ryker's eyes widened.
"He's Inner Circle."
Zade's jaw clenched.
"Take cover."
Gunfire erupted.
We returned fire.
Outnumbered, but determined.
Suddenly, reinforcements arrived.
Mysterious figures.
Taking down guards.
"Who are they?" I asked.
Ryker's eyes locked onto one.
"Lena...my contact."
Lena approached.
"Ryker, we need the documents."
Zade hesitated.
"Who are you?"
Lena's smile hinted.
"Shadow Alliance. Fighting Nightshade."
Axel's eyes narrowed.
"Trust?"
Lena's gaze met Axel's.
"We share a common enemy."
