Chapter 14. Last Minute Training

"Good luck on your mission guys." I say with a smile as I wave to Naruto, Sakura, Sai, and Kakashi.

"Are you sure you can't come with us?" Naruto asks me and looks to the road then back at me.

"I'm sure, I've got some business to do myself around here. Besides, the village would miss this sexy beast too much." I say with a wink and pat Naruto on the shoulder. "I'm sure you'll be able to find Sasuke this time. I'm sure you guys will be fine without me, besides we did just do a mission together not long ago with that whole crystal lady and that kid. You guys will be fine." He nods his head.

Kakashi pats me on the shoulder. "Make sure to do well on your mission too." He nods to the others and they know it's time for them to leave. "Good luck. Bye." They all run off speedily down the path. I smile as I weakly wave good bye to them.

I exhale heavily before I turn around and walk into the village. Naruto and the others were off to go find Sasuke since they heard word of where he could be. I would have loved to go with them, but I had to go on the search to find more information about Orochimaru. On our last mission, we had just found some more information and information about another hideout of his. When the things we brought back were examined, it seemed that there was information about experiments at another hideout of his. Granted, it was all coded, but eventually it was able to be decoded a good amount to where we would know where we were going for our next mission. It took weeks for it to be decoded even that much, but it is good enough for us. As long we have a good idea of where, you could be we were planning to go there.

I'm making my way downtown, walking fast, faces past, and I'm Hokage bound. When I reach Tsunade's office, she's chewing someone out. The yelling reminded me of fire truck sirens. Ah, what a lovely lady.

"But Naruto and the others get to go on cool missions all the time! Why can't I?" The voice sounds like a prepubescent boy. I facepalm myself when I realize it's Konohamaru. Has he hit puberty yet? I can't really tell. I shrug as I walk inside to a war zone. Oh man, that is a mistake. Why did I think that this is an okay thing to do?

"Because you're still a genin!"

"So is Naruto!" Konohamaru yells in anger and Tsunade takes a second to think, because Naruto is still technically a genin. It reminds me that I'm technically above Naruto, and I can't help but smile. The hierarchy playing in my favor always makes me smile.

"He has much more experience than you. He knows what he's doing, and besides, as much as I hate to admit it, Jiraiya is a powerful man and I know that he's trained Naruto a lot." She explains to him. "He's much stronger than before. I'm actually not ever sure Naruto should be classified as a Genin at this point in time." No, Tsunade, you can't ruin the hierarchy for me. That is all I have going for me. 

Konohamaru wastes no time thinking. No, he just speaks without thinking. "Well, I'll just get a mentor then! "

"Where do you expect to find a mentor? They don't fall off trees."

Konohamaru turns around in anger and looks at me for a second. Ah, my time to shine. I straighten myself out and try to look as impressive as possible. "You're right, they don't." I almost fall down from shock. He obviously doesn't know how powerful I am. He turns and points at Tsunade. "I'll just be powerful by my own training!" He then runs out of the room and slams the door.

Tsunade sighs and looks at me. "He reminds me so much of Naruto. Both of them give me headaches whenever I see them." She takes a swig of Sake and sighs again. "I'm guessing you're here because of your mission." I nod my head. "We're having the coders check their work one more time before I send you guys off. I can't risk just sending all of you off to a place that's nowhere near the ideal destination. So tonight you'll be free to do whatever. I'm expecting you to report here tomorrow morning at six. By then it should all be sorted through again."
