Chapter 40

•Scooter's POV•

•5:30 am•

I woke up beside Carin and kissed her good morning.
"How are you feeling?" I asked her and she hesitated to think about it before she replied.
"Pretty good actually." She smiled before kissing me again.
"Want to tell them today?" I asked. I knew everyone needed a pick me up and this was the perfect thing.
Carin smiled and thought about it for a second.
"Yeah. I do." Her response made me smile too. I quickly texted the crew to be at the arena in 20 minutes.
"Wait! Ryan isn't home." Carin remembered.
"If it's okay with you, we can tell him another day." I said and Carin nodded.
"Okay. Let's get ready." I kissed Carin's cheek again before we got out of bed and ready for the day.

•Justin's POV•

I woke up before Selena did and just watched her sleep. She was so peaceful and stress free when she was sleeping.
I imagined how the next few weeks could play out and sighed. I really hoped that it would be peaceful. Only time would tell. My phone rang and I mentally cursed myself for not silencing it before bed because I knew it'd wake up Selena. Soon enough, Selena was stirring and I kissed all over her face to make it a peaceful wakening. My girlfriend giggled at my contact and gently pulled my chin up so she could kiss my lips.
"That's a nice way to wake up." Selena giggled again and I smiled.
"Anything for you babe. I love making to smile." I pecked Selena's lips again before I pulled my phone out and read Scooter's text.
"Shit! We gotta go. Scooter said be at the arena in 20 min and it takes 15 minutes to get there." Selena and I jumped out of bed in a hurry.
We quickly threw on t-shirts and sweats. Selena shoved her feet into some lime green flip flops while I tugged on some socks and my purple Supras. Selena and I stood side by side as we quickly brushed our teeth and I made funny faces at her in the mirror until she laughed, almost spitting toothpaste everywhere.
"Aight. Leggo!" I exclaimed once we were ready. Kenny drove us to the arena in a rush, knowing Scooter would he mad if we were late.
We ran through the doors to find everyone seated waiting for Scooter to speak. He and Carin were standing on stage at the end of the runway. It was nice to see Carin for a change since she hasn't been feeling well lately. Even the kids were here, asleep on chairs beside Erin. Having everyone here today was going to be nice.
"Sorry Scoot. I didn't see the text right away." I quickly ran over and jumped on stage, but Scooter stopped me.
"Have a seat JB. Quick team meeting." Scooter had a smile hiding in his expression and I gave him a questioning look but he motioned for me to sit. I jumped off the stage and plopped down into seat beside Selena.
"Okay everyone! Nice to have everyone here for a change." Scooter smiled and he was in an unusually good mood.
"Today, we should get the choreography down for Beauty & a Beat and start creating Justin's drum solo for it." Scooter directed and everyone nodded.
"We'll break for lunch at 1:30, probably order in some food then we'll see how much work for Beauty & a Beat is left and maybe even start to work on Out of Town Girl. We should work late tonight. Lots of work to do. Let's finish at 10. Before we start, Carin has something to show you guys." Scooter directed the attention to his wife and kissed her cheek before she started.

•Carin's POV•

I stepped forward after Scooter finished speaking and looked to see everyone was seated before me. Pattie, Mama Jan, Allison, Erin, Jeremy, Fredo, Justin, Selena and the kids were eagerly waiting for me to speak.
"So when I wasn't sick, I took a bunch of cute pictures and I wanted to show you guys!" I said excitedly. Everyone nodded and I activated AirPlay onto the Jumbotron. Luckily Scrappy had set it up for me before everyone got here. (Quick note: in case you didn't know, AirPlay is a feature on Apple TV (it's a console you can plug into your TV) that lets you put your phone screen onto the big screen)
