INCIDENT OVERVIEW:
On the evening of April 17th, a 911 call was received at 8:48 PM from Nathaniel J. Hale, reporting a possible homicide at the residence located at 38 Prescott Drive, Crescent Hills.
Caller identified himself as the brother of the alleged victim and expressed urgent distress.
Caller further stated that his brother, Mason J. Decker (DOB: 04/17/2008), had a documented history of severe mental health issues, suicidal ideation, and had previously been under psychiatric care for post-traumatic stress, self-harm behavior, and depressive episodes.
Mr. N. Decker had also attempted to file a missing person report earlier that afternoon at Crescent Hills PD, but was advised that the required 24-hour
Officers were dispatched to the address at 8:51 PM and arrived on scene at 8:58 PM.
Upon arrival, front door was found locked. No signs of forced entry.
Two deceased individuals were found in the living room.
Identified as Jacob R. Finley (DOB: 09/26/2005):
One (1) gunshot wound to the upper left thorax (clavicle region)
Bullet exited through right scapula
No additional trauma noted
Ballistics:
9mm jacketed hollow point round recovered embedded in drywall behind body
Round matched Glock 17, serial # confirmed to be legally owned by Jordan Decker (stepfather of Mason Decker)
Second Deceased Marcus A. Reyes (DOB: 12/12/2006).
Found slumped against the base of the armchair on the west side of the living room
One (1) gunshot wound to the left side of the abdomen, near the ribcage
Bullet lodged in L3 vertebrae; no exit wound
Internal bleeding noted as cause of death
Ballistics:
Bullet surgically extracted during autopsy
Matches same Glock 17 weapon
Total bullets discharged:
Three (3) casings recovered from living room floor near Mason Decker's reported position (evidenced by shoe prints, wine stains, and blood spatter analysis)
