Chapter 2

Nialls pov

I smile and run down the green grassy hill. The sun was out even though it usually rained this time of year. I look back at Kylie who is standing at the top of the hill.

"Come on! I want to show you something." I say, stoping quickly and motioning for her to come down the hill.

Her smile is bright and she runs down letting out a small shriek, as she slips. Luckily it wasn't far from me and I catch her wrapping my arms around her small waist. Gosh I missed her so much.. Those 4 years were the best, but also the worst.

She smiles up at me and I let go taking her hand.

"You ok?" I ask, lightly squeezing her hand.

She nods smiling.

"Well then let's keep going on this adventure!" I say, leading her slowly down the hill so she wouldn't fall. That was the last thing I wanted.

It was nice to be back and see everyone. I hadn't stopped by to see my parents yet, but I hoped they could wait just a little longer. We go up the little road that leads to the small little river that ran through a beautiful prairie. I had seen it while we were driving in.

The thought hits me that I hadn't told my mates were I was going. Oops that'd have to wait until later. I throw the thought away as we go over the hill. Bright wildflower a line the river their small petals glimmering in the bright sun shining down.

"Niall I've been here a lot." Kylie's voice rings in my ears and I smile.

"I know, but it doesn't get old. It's just familiar." I say, looking at her.

She smiles her face turning slightly red. I smile and take her down to the river on the small dirt path. It was well kept and I was surprised to see a small picnic table that had been recently added by a large overshadowing tree.

"I've missed this."

Kylie says, softly looking at a small blue flower closely. Her blue eyes brighter next to the flower.

"Here I have to take a picture.Your eyes are really blue next to that flower." I say, taking out my iPhone.

I snap a quick picture and show it to her.

"Wow I never realized that's how blue they got." She says, smiling.

I nod and go over to the picnic table listening to the birds chirp and river running. It was so nice out here. It had been so long since I'd been back, I forgot how much I loved being home..

Kylie sits next to me her golden hair shimmering in the light. She was beautiful. Though we were best friends anyone would be lucky to have her. They would love the way she smiled and laughed. My heart beats faster and I shake the thoughts away. We were just friends.

"How's the tour been?" She asks, looking out at the grass that swayed back and forth in the gentle breeze.

"Um it's been going really good. Crowds have been amazing like always. Though nothing can really beat this. I have missed it." I say, looking at her.

Her eyes flicker as sadness fills them.

"How about you? Have things been good?" I ask.

She looks at me and smiles brightly.

"Slow. Just working in the shop and seeing old friends." She says, her eyes lighting up.

"I see what you did there!" I say, laughing.
