I'm currently sitting in the back seat of my car, my brother sitting next to me texting rapidly on his phone, my mother sitting in the passenger seat, leaving my dad to be the one driving.
We're heading to the closest airport for my brother, Kian. He needed to get back to California to visit his best friend Jc Caylen. Jc was like another older brother to me, I grew up with him and he took care of me and protected me just as much as Kian did.
Kian and Jc have their own youtube channel and pretty much all the social media in the world, they're also famous, internet famous to be exact. Kian just recently got done with being in a movie and let me tell you it was fucking scary as hell, never again will I watch a horror movie in my entire life. Unlike Jc, he just got done with his 7 days on the road trip. He went everywhere and I was so jealous he got to explore with all of his friends.
Then there's me, the loser, the nobody, the nerd. I on the other hand am not famous, I only have instagram, and it's on private for many reasons. I'm that girl that has braces, takes hard classes, and only has one friend. Great life I have.
I glanced up at my brother, he was scrolling through twitter when he realized I was watching him.
"Can I help you?" Kian laughed, exiting out of twitter and sending a reply to Jc.
"I just don't know what I'm gonna do without you." I sighed, resting my head on his shoulder.
"You're gonna be fine sis, don't worry about me okay? I know how strong you are." Kian smiled, wrapping his arm around me.
"This time is different though, you're going to be away longer than last time." I whined, looking at the road passing underneathe the car.
"I know that Aspen, but I also know you, you have Mack, she'll look after you just as much as I would." Kian replied, rubbing her shoulder.
"But I need you Kian, you just don't understand." I sighed sadly, he didn't know how much she needed him, especially since school was starting tomorrow.
"I may not understand, but you're going to be alright, I know that. I also know you'll do great at school tomorrow." He smiled softly and ruffled my hair.
I huffed and fixed my hair while giving him a small smile.
We soon arrived at the airport, Kian had all his bags and got his plane ticket to California.
I ran up to him and gave him one last big hug, trying my hardest not to cry.
"I'm going to miss you." I choked out, not realizing I was already crying.
"I'm going to miss you too sis." He replied, hugging her tight then waving goodbye to everyone and disapearing onto the plane.
I stood there, shakily playing with my fingers, he was gone, and I had to face school alone now.

Today was the day, the first day of Junior year of highschool. I had prepared all summer for this, I had to take a huge test for my pre-calc class, this test determined my future, if I would be able to get into the college of my dreams.
Believe me, when I say huge test I mean huge test, it was over 200 questions and if something happened to this packet of papers I will have a emotional breakdown.
I groggily got up from my bed, going into my bathroom and brushing my long brown hair, then brushed my teeth. I hated having braces, thankfully I get them off on Tuesday, I've waited 3 years for them to come off and I'm so excited to finally not look like a brace faced monster.
