GRAYSON'S POV.
It's been three days since Aspen was in the car wreck.
The doctor said that she had fallen into a coma from the sudden imact of the tree.
Kian hadn't left her room since he arrived, which is good in a way.
I on the other hand, have been a mess.
In my eyes, this was my fault, actually, it was my fault.
If Steven hadn't taken Ethan's phone and texted me that, all of this wouldn't of happened.
We would be at her house, cuddling in her bed.
But no, she's laying here lifeless in a hostpital in a coma.
"Grayson.. Buddy you alright?" Ethan questioned, concern washing over his face.
I blinked a few times before coming back to realization that we were sitting outside her door, waiting to go in.
"Does it look like I'm okay?" I muttered, crossing my arms while adjusting my beanie.
"No... But, maybe we can go in and see her and she'll wake up." He spoke positively, something I had been lacking.
"She hasn't been awake for three days, what makes you think she will now?" I sighed, rubbing my temples.
"C'mon Gray, can't you just try to think on the bright side for once?" He questioned, yanking me out of the chair.
We slowly walked in, Kian still sitting beside her.
"Hey um.. Kian can we have a moment with her please..?" Ethan spoke cautiously.
Kian blinked a few times, then slowly rose and exited the room.
I carefully went over and sat next to her bed.
"Hey Aspen.. I know you can't probably hear me.. But.. I wanna say I'm sorry.. I'm sorry for ever bullying you.. For making everyone laugh at you, for humilating you in front of the entire school, for causing you pain, for causing you to get into this car accident.." I choked out, gently grabbing her hand.
"I'm sorry I ever hurt you.." I whispered, as a tear fell down my face.
We both sat there quietly, looking at eachother sadly.
I adjusted my beanie again when I felt a slight grasp on my hand.
My heart started beating faster as I saw Aspen clench her fingers around my hand.
She was waking up.. Ethan was right.
"Ethan holy shit look!" I spoke excitedly, thankful she was okay.
I stood up instantly, looking down at her smiling slightly.
Her eyes slowly fluttered open, taking in her surroundings.
Once she realized where she was she blinked rapidly, making me smile.
"Hey beautiful.." I mumbled, rubbing her hand gently.
Her eyes focused on me, her hand gripping mine more as her eyes became watery.
"W-Why am I here..?" She choked out, sniffiling.
"You were in a car crash.. You just came out of a coma.." I sighed, intertwining our fingers.
Her eyes widened and then focused on Ethan.
"You sent that message.." She murmured, her voice saddening.
"It wasn't me, it was our friend Steven." Ethan sighed, standing up also.
"He took my phone and texted Grayson, which you saw." He explained, slumping his shoulders.
She nodded understandingly and then looked back at me.
"Are my parents here?" She questioned, looking around.
"No they went home, they'll be back though, but someone else is here for you." I smiled slightly, making her eyes widen.
"K-Kian!" She spoke happily, her smile widening on her face.
I nodded slowly, motioning towards the door as her brother stood there.
His shoulders were slumped as he walked in, not realizing she was awake yet.
He walked over, glancing up then dropping whatever he had in his hands, rushing over to her.
"Aspen!" He shouted, pulling his sister into a gentle hug.
"Kian!" She choked out, hugging her brother tight.
I gave a small smile, wishing that I could be the one she was hugging.
But I was the one that caused this.
I quietly left the room with Ethan, heading home for the night.
*** Next Day ***
My alarm woke me up, groaning as I sat up to turn that annoying sound off.
I groggily got out of bed, putting sweatpants on and a t-shirt.
Today I was visiting Aspen in the hostpital again, I decided to bring her flowers and a cute stuffed bear.
I ran over to Ethan's room, telling him I was going to see her.
I quickly grabbed the car keys and headed down to the hostpital.
Once I arrived, I went down to her room, she was still asleep.
I quietly walked over, trying not to wake her up, setting down the flowers and the teddy bear.
"You didn't have to get that, you know." She murmured, startling me.
She gave a small smile as she glanced at the flowers and teddy bear.
"Of course I did." I laughed softly, sitting down in the chair.
"Why?" She questioned, sitting up a bit so she could look at the flowers.
"Because.. I caused this, you being in here.. It's my fault.." I sighed, looking down at my hands.
She sighed, making me look up at her.
She held the teddy bear in her arms, giving a weak smile to me.
"It's okay, I was being ridiculous and careless of what was happening." She looked at me sadly, making my heart shatter.
"Can you ever forgive me?" I whispered, unsure if I even wanted to know the answer.
She blinked a few times, making me far past nervous.
"Yes." She nodded, looking at me.
I smiled softly, grabbing her hand gently.
She let out a small giggle that warmed my heart, I missed this, I missed her.
"You're so boyfriend material right now." She laughed, making me laugh with her.
"Oh be quiet." I grumbled, laughing.
Aw shit am I blushing?
Did she make me blush?
How did this happen?
I'm Grayson Dolan, the popular guy in school, and Aspen Lawley made me blush.
I never thought I'd see the day that, that happened.
"Earth to Grayson!" She called, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah?" I chuckled, making her smirk.
"Thanks." She smiled, making me confused.
"For what?" I questioned, letting out a laugh.
"For being here, for bringing me this." She motioned towards the flowers and teddy bear.
"It's nothing really." I smiled softly, making her giggle.
Guess I really am boyfriend material.
