Let's start off with a character I've seen so many times on here. We'll call her Scarlet; she's feisty, stubborn, probably has anger management, gets into countless arguments with the hot guy and doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks about her. Scarlet's probably the main character in nearly every book on here and let's face it, she's pretty good at it. She can be the nerd who has a feisty side no one knew about, the school's hot, sexy rebel or that so called normal girl who blends into the crowd. But Scarlet is cliche, so cliche. This girl stops her alarm by throwing it at a wall, that or by breaking it with her cliche fist, shouts her lungs out at the player whilst the rest of the school crowds around her in awe, goes from, I wuv you too pumpkin, to I'm going to rip your balls off and tie them to the school's flag as a warning to all the other horn dogs, in...let's say...two lines- no I'm being too generous. I'm pretty sure we've all come to the conclusion that Scarlet is over dramatic- sorry girl but it's true. Even so, Scarlet's a good main character and the hot guy can't help but take a seriously big interest in her because she's unlike any other girl he has ever seen. Well I'm sorry to crash your parade hot guy but I've seen Scarlet so many times she might as well be the stash of hotties I have somewhere around here. I'll be back later
Here's the other cliche main character I've noticed again and again. Let's call her Bertha- no that's too bad. How about Dottie? Yeah, I'm just gonna stick with that. Dottie's the shy nerdy girl who can't even glance at a boy without looking like she's dipped her face into a bucket of red paint or without stuttering so much that that stuff gets difficult to read. Now Dottie isn't a bad character but she's one of the biggest cliches. She'll most likely wear those big, cliche nerdy glasses with some geeky clothes to top it all off. Her sexual experience is also equivalent to that of most readers on here: nothing. Come on now. Don't get too offended; I said most. You also can't forget how Dottie's extremely shy but when I say extremely shy, I mean extremely, extremely shy. Yep, Dottie needs help. Someone could compliment this girl's shoes and she would yelp a thank you and run off like she's in some kind of life or death situation. However, even though she has some serious anxiety problems she should deal with, Mr Popular, finds her adorable (but who wouldn't though?) and he spends all his time making her blush constantly. I kinda like Dottie but keep in mind that we've seen her before
Okay, the hot, possessive, you're mine, Alpha. This guy has the pleasure of being called Humphrey. Damn Humphrey, your parents must have hated you. This hot Alpha appears in werewolf stories and for those who don't know what an Alpha is, he's the pack's leader. Now Humphrey will throw a tantrum if another guy so much as touches his girl. It could be she's falling off a cliff so a guy grabs her hand and pulls her to safety- but no. Humphrey can't stand the pain this causes him so he'll punch the heroic guy in the face and then possessively grab his girl yelling, MINE. Let's not forget how he does this daily, no in every chapter- and, Humphrey, the girl has a name. Please stop addressing her by mine every time you talk to her. Your whole conversation might as well be, Girl- How are you sweetie?, Humphrey- Mine, mine, mine, mine, sex, mine, mine, Girl- Aww, that's good my day was good too. Now what do you feel like eating good looking?, Humphrey- Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, Girl- I feel like pizza too sweetie. In a lot of cases, Humphrey will lock the girl in his room because his possessive nature forces him to do so. He's probably arrogant as well since most of the guys on Wattpad are. So why is Humphrey strolling around in every werewolf story on here? It's simple really: girls find him attractive. Like seriously attractive and his possessive behaviour turns them on. Now, in real life, most girls would slap a guy if they addressed her as an object and put their own claim on them but I guess a lot of them get pretty excited by it as well. Even so, originality guys and Humphrey is pretty extreme. You know, chaining her to a bed for a week without any other companionship and refusing to let her leave the house without his absolute permission. That's kinda extreme if you ask me. Yep, he needs help. Well, we'll see you later Humphrey
Introducing Chase: the sexy arrogant player. Yep, we've all met him. He's not new. He'll be on the football team as well as in all of the school's female population's beds. Chase isn't just the definition of sexy but he's also the definition of sexual transmitted diseases. This guy uses his junk more than we breathe. He's a play boy, a heart breaker but still girls drool at his feet and offer to lick it off. It's no wonder Chase is so arrogant when even the teachers are 'subtly' slipping him their numbers. Now we all love using Chase but he's been in more books than the amount of girls as he's slept with. Can't forget how he'll probably be the school's bad boy as well; leather jacket and all. Maybe in the next book you write, you don't have to use Chase but some new guy who doesn't get enough credit
This is the character I find the most frustrating. Give it up for Tatiana- no wait, you won't clap because this is the school's notorious Queen Bee. Tatiana here wears belts as skirts and somehow lost all her tops so has resulted to using string instead. This girl wasn't even born with her virginity because there's no point in someone as easy as her even having it. Purity? Chasity? Lol, what are those? She's more evil than Joffrey from Game of Thrones- this girl could throw a baby off a plane and laugh. That's the type of character you guys are making. We get it. In schools there are some girls that could be viewed as Tatianas but trust me, have you even talked to them? They're not like that completely. They're actually nice. If you have a character like this just keep in mind that not everyone is entirely evil, so try to put some good in them. But I've seen Tatiana in every story on Wattpad and she's always trying to steal the hot guy from the main character with here extremely long fake nails. In this one story, she stabbed the main character with a poisoned blade in the girl's toilets. Just...please, give Tatiana a break. She's gotten enough hate in every story on here
