I walked out, feeling the cold on my face.
On the way back I kept thinking about Kaneki. There was this strange feeling I had in me whenever I saw him. Every time I was with him my heart would beat faster.
Hatori's P.O.V
I was sitting on the couch near the window in my room. The clock showed 4:20 pm. (Y/n) wasn't home yet.
''She must be with Kaneki'' I said to myself as I smirked. He was a nice guy. I was hungry. Kaneki gave me some packs of ''food'' so I would have enough for the week. They stayed fresh inside. I jumped off and took one from under my bed. I opened it and started chewing it. I wasn't happy being like that. I tried to act like my usual self but it didn't turn out well. I felt sad. If my sister found out she would be crushed. Her life would be completely ruined. I knew that she wouldn't hate me but she would be sad. I was drawn inside my thoughts while chewing the meat. Suddenly I heard the sound of a door opening. I turned towards it and there I saw my big sister standing in shock. I saw my face in the mirror next to the door. It was covered in blood, my eye was red and black and the other one was the usual teal color. I was still chewing, holding the half eaten piece of meat in my hand. Her (e/c) eyes widened even more and she couldn't say a word. I could see fear and sadness in her eyes. A slight teardrop was forming in the corner of her eye.
''(Y/n)-nee-chan...'' I tried to speak but she screamed and turned away slamming the door behind her causing loud noise. I wanted to run after her and explain everything but I knew that she needed some time alone. I just remained silent, sitting on the couch, looking outside the window. I saw a family passing by. They were smiling and laughing.
''We could be like that too... if these ghouls hadn't killed her none of this would have happened..'' I silently said to myself as I lied down and threw the meat away. My appetite was gone.
Reader's P.O.V
I unlocked the door and walked in. Hatori wasn't in the kitchen or in the living room so I went to her room. I opened the door. What I saw was her sitting on the couch with her her face turned to the window. A few seconds later she turned in my direction. What I saw wasn't her. It couldn't be. Her left eye was red and black and her right one had the usual teal color her eyes have always had. There was blood all over her face. 'It couldn't be my little sister... no.. she isn't a monster...' I thought to myself. But she had the same hair and same eye color as her. She opened her mouth and said my name, trying to speak. Instead of listebing I screamed and ran out of the room, slamming the door behind me which caused loud noise. I felt tears falling down. I ran out of the house without putting on my shoes or jacket. I didn't care about getting sick or the cold. When I was outside I didn't know where to go. I remembered that Kaneki lives in the building across the street. I ran there and climbed up the stairs while sobbing. Somehow I knew that he could explain. I knocked on his door only to recieve no answer. I fell down, leaning on the wall. It was cold. I hugged my knees and started sobbing.
Some time later I felt pain in my head. It was strong. The rain started falling down again and a few minutes later it became stronger than the first one. I didn't want to go back so I had no choice but to sit and wait for him. I was silently crying to myself. It was all my fault. If I had come home earlier and protected her she wouldn't have become a monster now. I felt the pain in my head get stronger. My vision got blurry. I saw a guy with snow white hair and a blonde haired one coming in this direction.
''Ka-ne-ki...?" I slowly and quietly whispered. Then all I saw was darkness.
Kaneki's P.O.V
I was walking back home with Hide. I kept thinking of (y/n). Was she alright and safely home? We walked in silence.
''Is something wrong?'' Hide suddenly asked
''No. I was just thinking about something'' I replied.
''Is it a girl?'' he asked with a smirk as he lightly punched my shoulder. We were almost in front of my apartment.
''Maybe...'' I said.
He laughed "Who is she? Are you sure she isn't like the last one?'' (A/n: Hide knows everything about Kaneki and what happened. He knows about Rize and all the stuff) ''And aren't you going to make Touka-chan jealous?'' He asked.
''She is a normal human being. And what Touka feels about me..'' I sighed. We were going upstairs ''I don't feel the same way about her. And her name is...'' we were now upstairs. I saw someone sitting next to the wall, in front of my apartment door. It felt as if time had stopped. I couldn't move for a second. ''(Y/n)!'' I screamed her name and ran towards her. While running I turned to Hide ''Looks like you can't stay today. But we'll see each other tomorrow. Sorry'' I quickly said.
He smiled ''It's ok. Have fun'' he said as he winked at me and went back downstairs.
When I went next to her I noticed that she didn't have shoes or jacket on. She was unconcious. As I picked her up bridal style I saw that she was crying. I carried her inside.
''Why were you there, (y/n)? What happened?'' I whispered as I carefully put her on the bed and put a blanket over her. I went to make some coffee. There were so many questions in my head.
Half an hour later I felt that the air getting colder. The apartment I lived in was from the cheap ones so it would get cold easy. I got out a spare blanket from the wardrobe and went to the bed.
She was peacefully sleeping and apparently talking in her sleep. Most of the words she said were nonsense but I heard her say 'Hatori' and 'Why?' multiple times. I put the spare blanket over her.
She moved and her hand slightly touched mine. I felt my cheeks heat up and I moved my hand away from her. I heard her say my name in her sleep. I decided it would be the best if I left her alone for now.
I decided to go to the store since I didn't have any normal food here for her.
When I came back she was still sleeping. I left the food on the table and sat down next to the bed. I was thinking about what to tell her when she wakes up. I figured she must have noticed what her little sister is so I had to explain. Also I wanted to tell her about the way I felt about her. I looked at her. Her face was turned towards me and some of her silky (h/c) bangs were on her face.
She looked so peaceful yet traces of tears could be seen. She was crying in her sleep. I couldn't turn away. I kept staring at her face. I wanted to kiss her. 'Even if I did she wouldn't notice...' after that thought I leaned in closer but when I was about to kiss her lips something inside made me stop. It wasn't right. I just backed off and slightly smiled at the view infront of me. Somehow seeing her made me feel happy.
I sat like that next to the bed. My eyes slowly started closing. ''Some sleep wouldn't hurt...'' I silently said to myself as I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
