$ Ria's POV $
" So why don't I exactly remember the people we are going to meet? " , I asked my now super excited Dad.
" Not just people, hon. My best friend and his wife. Your god parents, hon. I don't blame you that you don't remember your uncle Raj. Its been a long time now, 8 years to be exact."
"Hmmm..." , is all I said knowing that he will start off narrating the story of the Epic Friendship between these families.
" Our friendship is an epic, hon. Cause this friendship has come down from centuries. Our ancestors, the Nanda's made a treaty with the Sisodia's centuries ago. And the treaty led to a friendship beyond boundaries between our kingdoms. And even today this friendship between our families is stronger than ever.
Raj is going to be so happy to see you after such a long time. He is like a li'l brother to me. When I moved here to Canada from India, he was one person I missed so dearly. Yesterday, when he called me that he is moving in here I was on cloud nine. This is going to be like old days." My Dad kept on ranting. But I didn't want to ruin this moment for him. I hadn't seen him happy since Mom left us.
Ten minutes later Dad slowed down the car in front of massive gates that gave access to a drive way, that led us to this magnificent mansion almost like ours. In front of the mansion laid a well pruned lawn with almost all coloured flowers. In the centre stood a breath taking piece of marble fountain increasing the beauty of the whole mansion by ten folds.
As soon as the valet took charge of the car, we were greeted by two most gorgeous people to walk the face of the earth. Uncle Raj was a handsome hunk, I might as well imagine the amount of fan girls he might have had in his bachelor days. And his wife, Aunty Ash was the most gorgeous and wonderful lady.
I was enveloped into warm hugs from both of them as soon as Dad introduced us.
Once we were seated in the cosy living area I was surrounded by a feeling of warmth, it felt like home.
"Here is your favourite hot chocolate, dear" Aunty Ash said handing me a mug.
" I filled her in with your preferences, Princess. I hope it hasn't changed." , Uncle Raj said.
I gave them a hearty smile, " You both just made it to the top of my most favourite people's list" , I said grinning like an Idiot. "And no, I haven't changed a bit" , I added at the end.
While Dad and Uncle Raj were "catching up", I was enjoying Aunty Ash's company. She was just 7 years older than me and yet was just as cool as a teenager.
After that day, Sisodia Mansion became my second home and the Sisodia's became family. Aunt Ash didn't take Mom's place but yeah she did fill in the emptiness in my life of Mom to quite an extent. Any problem I had and she would solve it in seconds.
My life had once again become complete. I was happy. In fact, I became the happiest person on earth. But, may be Destiny was not much pleased with my perfect happy life.
I still remember that day, 19th september, the day my life did a 360 degree turn. That day, I was in the middle of my history class, when my name was announced through the speakers asking me to report to the principal's office. I was quite confused, cause' I was the straight A and most obedient girl who never got in trouble. I headed towards the office. As I entered, I saw Uncle Raj sitting in one of the chairs in a disgruntled manner. His eyes were puffed and bloodshot, it was clear he had been crying. He pulled me into a hug as soon as he saw me.
" Princess, I need you to be strong and listen to me. Your Dad has met with an accident and is in the intensive care right now. I'm here to take you to him." he said.
I pulled away. " Uncle Raj! What kind of joke is this??" I asked not believing something like this can happen to me. No, its not possible! Not again!! Not the only person I had left to call family.
" I know Princess, God is playing a sick joke on us. I know", that's all I heard.
