Chapter 8: Comforting...

Chapter 8:

"D, are you sure your okay?" Diva asked looking concerned.

"I'm fine. Now, are we early or is this person who is supposed to represent Mr. chauhan awefully late?"

"He must be here anytime soon. But, are YOU okay? You know you can go home if you want to take the day off. I'll come home after this meeting."

"It's okay, Beautiful. I can handle this. However its time I getover this. Its been years now."

"Oh, D!" Diva pulls him into a hug, to comfort him.  "Woah! Get a room you two!" An annoying comment interupts thier emrace.

Diva turns around to see the owner of the annoying voice to come face to face with the last person she wanted to see.

"You?? What the hell are you doing here? I swear I'll get a restraining order against you if you are stalking me"

"First of all, I'm not stalking you. I'm Adiraj Chauhan for godsakes! I get stalked not the other way around. Second, I'm here for the meeting. But, you two seem to be getting cozy so I wouldn't mind if you want to reschedule this meeting."

"You are so full of yourself. And why are you here for the meeting? This isn't some party, its a bloody serious business meeting. So you are no way in this. I'm ready to take back my contract if it's you who will be handling the project with me. I need someone experienced and serious for this job not a bloody playboy whose experience is limited to bed. So please, Tell your Dad that either you are out of the project or he will lose this contract."

"Ouch! now, that hurts. And you should know that I'm trying to get pretty serious towards business nowadays. And I'm not loser, I have a degree from Oxford if you know."

"My words are final Mr. Chauhan its either you or the contract now. I don't work with people who don't take their job seriously. We are out of here." She grabs D who was too tired to get into this argument and pulls him towards the door.

"You know you could have just said you wanted some time with your loverboy I would be happy to reshchedule. You din't have to create a scene."

This stops Diva in her tracks. She pivots on her heels towards Adi with a furious look on her face.

" One, this is D, my business associate and best friend. Two, though you are too cheap to try,do see other relationships with a bit of respect maybe then you will see all relationships aren,t physical. Three, if you want to survive in this world then you better not mess with me next time cause' I will make sure to destroy you."

 With that she stroms out of the room leaving behind a stunned Adiraj.

" I'm so sorry you had to witness that, D. Especially on a day like today."

"It's okay, Ri. I could see that guy was annoying."

"He just manages to get on my nerves eveytime I meet him. I so hate him, D. Anyways, enough about that loser now lets get your mood up shall we"

" Where are we going?"

" Somewhere that'll lighten your mood."

" We going swimming?"

"Naah! That was last time. This time it's somewhereelse. You'll never be able to guess, D."

"We are out of the city right now,Ri. You aren't going to kidnap me now are you?"

"You wish! Now have patience and close your eyes, D. This is a surprise."

"Fine. But, next time I plan a surprise for you don't you dare ruin it."

"Yeah yeah yeah! Lets see about that"

" How long, Ri?"

"Ah...! We are here, D."

"Holy Mother Mary! This is your new ranch isn't it? This place is wonderful! I'm honored, Ri"

"Oh! please! there is nothing to be honored about. Now let me show my two beauties."

She led him towards the stables, where two gorgeous black horses stood waiting them.

"Here meet Pride and Prestige. These are my stars." She looked at them with love and pride in her eyes. She din't seem like one, but she really was a softie for animals.

"Gorgeous! Now may I have the pleasure of riding one of these stars"

"You can have Prestige. Pride is mine."

And off they went on their horses around the ranch.

The ranch was situated on the outskirts of the city in the middle of lush green trees. Her Ranch was filled with all sorts of animals from dogs n' horses to ducks n' birds. She loved these animals alot and she made sure that she would make time for them once in awhile from her chaotic life. This was her haven. Her Cave, a place she turned to when she felt she coulcn't hold on any longer, when she felt the world cruching her, when she needed peace, when she needed to think, when she wanted to be surrounded by love and most most of all when she just wanted to drop her 'I'm Diva' 'I'm tough' facade. It was a place she could run into when she just wanted to be the Ria Nanda she was when her dad was there, the Ria Nanda when she lost her Dad. That lil' gal who din't have to stand still and tough infront of the world and would just wrap her self up cave into her room and cry to herself for hours. Those are the things she din't do but things she should have like any normal girl her age. But she wasn't any ordinary girl now was she? Naah! She is Ria Nanda and she was mean't to be tough she was mean't to be Diva cause' she was a Rajput to be weak and most of all she was her Dad's daughter to be weak.  

"This place is breathtaking,Ri! How on earth did you manage to find land middle of a mini forest with a lake and a waterfall?? This is something outta books!"

"Fooled you din't it? Did you forget that I'm good at my job? This isn't natural. I created this. I wanted it to like its outta fairytales."

"But this looks so natural,Ri. Anybody can get fooled by it. You aren't just good at the job, Ri, you are awesome at it."

"Well, now can we drop it. I wanna forget it not natural. Lets enjoy this alright?"

"Alright! Lets rock it"

They tied their horses to a near by tree and let them graze. They sat on the bank of the river next to each other thier legs dangling in the water enjoying eachothers presence and the sound of the water. This is one of the reasons why they were bestfriends, the din't have to chat at all. They read from eachothers silence. Never had the silence between them been awkward. Sometimes even when silnce would fall suddenly between them during a talk it never seemed awkward. Yeah they weren't the type of bestfriends from books who would never fight cause' they fought often nor were they the type who would just makeup half an hour after fighting. No, cause' sometimes they did give eachother silent treatment, even though they couldn't last a day without talking to eachother they did restrain themselves from talking out of stubborness but at the end they would realize eachothers mistakes and end it.

They always knew how to comfort eachother when the other was going through a rough time. Sometimes their presence was enough to comfort eachother. Like right now.

After spending almost two hours at the lake they headed towards the stables and then out towards a diner.
