Chapter 9: Enter Daniel Williams!

Chapter 9:

"Ouch! That hurts..!" Adi said holding his stomach.

"Well, Mr. Adiraj Chauhan that would teach you a lesson not to mess with me again. I'm tolerating your presence just cause' your Dad requested that I let you in on this project otherwise I'm not interested or gonna entertain your antics whatso ever. Am I clear?"

"Yeah yeah. Try to reject me how much ever you want but at the end I know you want me just like every other girl."

"Now Mr. Obnoxious, just shut your mouth before I make sure that you wont be able to reproduce." she turned around before he could say anything, while trying to contact Dev.

Dev picked it on the second ring.

"God! Where are you when I need you, D?" she whined.

"Hello to you to sunshine" sarcasm dripping in his voice.

"No time for that D. Where are you and why arent you here?"

"Oh! Was I suppose to meet you??", he mocked a surprise.

"You gotta be kidding me! D, drop whatever your doing right now and get your ass here.!"

" I cant do that! It would mean I wasted my precious time getting your favourite latte!" he said the last part out loud enough so that she could hear him right behind her.

She quickly turned around to see him standing with a grin on his face. She ran to him squealing.

"OMG! You always know how to make my day, D"

Adi stood in a corner watching the whole exchange.Something tugged in him. It was a feeling he din't ever recognise. He felt like that should have been him standing over there hugging her. But as soon as that thought crossed his mind he shrugged it off as absurdity.

"Now, if you're done being all mushy can we discuss work?"

"OMG! Am I dreaming or did Mr Player just say he wanted to work??" Ria mocked with a gasp. "Anyways let's get started. Where are we with the plots, D? "

"I have finalised 3 plots already. But, if you ask my opinion I think the plot near 24th would be appropriate for the hotel. Now I wouldn't call it plot exactly it is an old building but we can turn it into a magnificent Hotel. It will give you an awesome view of the city. And the one on the outskirts would be appropriate for the Resort. Its a huge plot and you can do your magic and create a lake or a something like that. We can visit them now if you like, you can see for yourself and then decide."

"Naah! I will go with your judgements. You know me well so I know you would have chosen according to my taste." Ria waved off. And that seemed to annoy Adiraj.

"But, you know I would like to see for myself after all it is about my companies reputation also"

Ria spun around to face him with a scowl. "And you just had to open your obnoxious mouth just when I had almost forgotten annoying your presence. And I trust D's judgement if you have so much of a problem about it you might as well go ahead and checkout the plots but no matter your so called opinions we are going to go ahead with the plots. " With this she turned around, "D, follow me please we need to arrange meetings with the sellers and decide the price."

She walked out with Dev by her side. "Mr. Chauhan you can collect the addresses from my PA. And Please inform your father that the price list will be forwarded to him for his approval by afternoon. I want to start work from tomorrow morning." With that she left without even a glance at Adi. This seemed to annoy the hell out of him.

"Hey, Ri. I came in to talk to you about the interview."

"Ah, yes. I was going to call you about that. Did you find an appropriate candidate for the post?"

"Ya, kind of." D, answered scratching the back of his neck.

"And?"

"Well, I kind of wasn't satisfied with anyone from the interview but then I got a call from a friend asking if the post was still open. And I thought he will be perfect for the job until we find a suitable candidate. He has experience."

"I trust you, D. So who is this guy?"

"I don't know if you remember Daniel. Daniel Williams?"

"Oliver William's son? But isn't he going work with his dad? I mean his dad owns a production house. And you said he has experience you mean he has worked in a construction company before?"

"Yeah, He has worked in a few companies, in all the departments. He is trying to gain experience so that he can open a company of his own he doesn't want to work with his dad. And he is yet to find his area of interest. So, what say?"

"Hmmm. A guy who wants to build his own status. I like that. Ok. He gets the job."

"Ufff!" D, released the breath he had been holding. "Thanks, Ri. He wants to join from today. I had called him today so that you can interview him and see for yourself. I call can him in right now if you want. He is waiting outside"

"Naah! He can join in no need for the interview and all but I'll go through his resume. Call him in anyhow."

Dev pressed the intercom and asked Sarah to send in Mr. Williams . A few minutes later there was a knock.

"Come in"

"Ah, Danny boy this is Ria and Ri this is Daniel."

"Mr. Williams, I must say I'm impressed. A guy who is rich but wants nothing to do with his father's money? Not something you find every day."

"Miss Nanda, Please call me Daniel or Danny. Mr. Williams sounds like my old man back home. And must say its a pleasure to meet you."

"Wow! I hope Adiraj learns a thing or two from you. What say, D?"

"C'mon, Ri. Cut that guy some slack. I know you don't wanna baby sit that guy but I don't understand why you insult him so much?"

"You gotta be kidding me! My annoyance with him has nothing to do with baby sitting the guy. It's just that he tries to get in my pants every opportunity he gets. And that guy has no respect towards woman, D."

" Anyways, Congrats Danny boy you just landed yourself a job."

"Wow. Really?"

"Yeah, Dan welcome abord. I'll be looking forward to work with you."

"Oh! The pleasure is all mine. Today has to be a lucky day for me. I mean not only did I meet The Diva but I also get to work with you."

"Oh! Cut the crap you don't have to  flatter me you've already landed yourself a job"  

And with that they departed having a good laugh.
