Friday -February 16,2024

Midnight

I was in my room locked away from morning and it was now midnight. I scrolled on TikTok since I wasn't feeling sleepy as yet.

I got a notification from instagram and I decided to give TikTok a break and go to instagram. I went to watch reels but my phone was blowing up so I went to go look at my mentions.

I scrolled through my mentions and realized that most of them were tags on the same post. I clicked one and was brought to a page called, "Calling out muks". It was a new account with only one post.

I looked at the post and shook my head when I saw me and some messages.

What to do

I opened the comments and saw people laughing, defending and agreeing with the post.

I went to go write a comment but I didn't bother. I have more important things to worry about—like the fact that I have to go school with my mother tomorrow.

I went to text Zariah about the situation and got one tick which means she is probably asleep. As I was about to put my phone done I got a call from Kayla.

"Hey KayKay." I answered saying.

"Yo alright?" She asked and I knew she was referring to the post.

"Yea .."

"Yo see wah gwan pan ig?"

"Yea but it's alright." I shrugged saying.

"Danika.. doh mek wah dem a say get to yo. A goodly one a the girl dem weh wah be yo."

"Mi good Kayla mi ave bigga tings a worry boh rn."

"Wah me and you guh out tomorrow after school?" She asked and I stayed silent.

"Danika?"

"Mi kinda grounded right now suh I can't but thank you baby." I smiled saying.

"Grounded? When yo wah talk bout it mi deh yah yer?"

"Yea.. Kayla?"

"Yea?" She answered.

"Mi probably get expelled tomorrow... and mi nuh know wah fi doh." I sighed saying.

"Memba the tongue strong suh mind weh yah seh." I laughed at how seriously she said it.

"Mi know. Right now mi feel like the world a come dung pah mi. Me and Landon nah talk, a bare fight mi a get inna, the instagram situation and mi grounded."

"Doh worry everything aguh work out, mi aguh pray fi yo and yo see when yo get ungrounded mi aguh arrange one girls trip."

"Alright Kay mi aguh sleep. Thank you." I said and she said her goodbyes and we hung up.
