"Get out of my house, before I call the police!" Vanessa shouted as she tried to make it to the phone, but the unwanted intruder grabbed her and threw her on the bed.

"Oh, no, you don't," he said as he held one of her arms behind her back while holding her head down on the bed. His grip on her was so tight that she couldn't move, and it was causing her some pain. She was terrified, not only for herself but for her unborn baby.

She laid there for what seemed like the longest time not making an attempt to fight him. She felt her hands being tied behind her back. Tears were welling up in her eyes fearing that he might do.

"Now, this is how it's going to be," he said. Vanessa made no reaction. He let her sit up after tying her feet and legs with heavy rope. He tied the rope extra tight sending burning sensations through her body. "I'm going to ask the questions, and you are going to answer them. Is that clear?"

She nodded with tears rolling down her face. She didn't say a word only whimpered. She was so scared she couldn't find her voice.

"I want to hear your answer," he shouted as he wrapped his hands around her neck. "Another thing, you better not lie to me. You do, and I'll have no choice but the kill you." His hand loosened its grip around her, but he grabbed hold of her hair. "What's your answer?" There was a snarl in his voice that made her tremble.

"I'll tell you whatever you want to know," she said in almost a whisper. Her voice cracked a little, mostly because she was so terrified.

"Good," he said as a sadistic smile came to his face. His hand traveled down passed her breasts to her swollen belly. He caressed it as Vanessa felt thee baby inside her move. He looked straight into her eyes and said, "Where's your boyfriend?"

"I don't know,' she said, and then suddenly felt a hard slap across her face. He still had a hold of her hair which he knotted tightly around his fist.

"I told you not to lie to me!" he shouted as he held her down. "You don't want anything bad to happen to that precious baby of yours you tell me what I want to know."

"I've told you that I don't know," she said hysterically. He turned her around grabbing hold of either side of her face.

"Tell me, Vanessa," he said, using her name inside her head. It was like some crazy dream. She wanted it to stop, but it wouldn't until she answered his question, but it would not be the answer he wanted.

"I don't know," she shouted. She looked over at him and saw the rage in his eyes.

"You're lying," he said and slapped her. "I'll hear no more of you're lying tongue. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small piece of cloth. He tied the other piece of cloth around her mouth and tightened it into a knot. She was weeping by then as she sat there on the bed as he ransacked her home.

She tried to get her hands free, but they were tied too tightly and the balled up cloth was causing her to choke. Out of nowhere she heard Marcus' thunderous voice. "I know you were lying!" He shouted the words as he quickly approached her. He had his hands around her neck, but he wasn't making the attempt to choke her. He was clutching a piece of paper in his hand. It had Dusk's name and a phone number on it that was in Vanessa's handwriting.

"I'll give you one last chance," Marcus said in a much calmer voice. He still had his hands around her neck. "Is this the number where Mason came be reached?"

She nodded hesitantly and Marcus removed his hand from her neck. "That's a good girl," he said and laughed. "I'll make him come to me, and that slut as well." She knew he had meant Marianna, and she was the pawn to trap them both.

She saw him walk over towards the night stand. She assumed he was dialing thee number to call Dusk, but by his tone she doubted her own assumption. "I'm at the cabin." She heard him say. "Yes, I need you to do something for me." There was a short pause, and then he gave whoever was on the other end the number he had found stashed in the back of her desk. "Good. I'll contact you when I need you again."

When he hung up the phone he looked back at Vanessa. He pulled something out of his pocket that made her eyes grow big out of fright. It was a syringe with a needle at the end of it. It was filled with some kind of clear liquid. "Don't worry," he said as he grabbed hold of her arm. "This will only make you sleep. I need you alive, but I have things to do. I don't need you causing me any trouble, so you're going to have to a little nap.

She struggled to get out of his grasp, but he slapped her hard which made her stop. She felt the prick of the needle and almost instantly she fell into sleep.
