Marcus walked into the kitchen leaving Vanessa's dead body in the bedroom. He didn't even have the decency to cover her up. He just left her exposed for anyone to see. He knew that Dusk would return soon and he wanted him to see what was left of his lover.

He wasn't about to flee. He still had work to do, and it was the work he rather enjoyed. He still had not finished with Marianna, and when she was gone he had every intention to traveling to that mountain cabin and taking care of her two friends. He still owed Ty for saving his ex-lover, and he going to pay with his life.

Marcus loathed beastials. He believed they were less human than Sadians who were born looking like  normal humans. Their DNA was nothing but garbage, and it was his dream to eradicate all beastials. His was working on a way to exterminate them from gene pool permanently.

He believed that they were worse than lycanrhropes, which was another sub race he hated with a passion, but at least lycanthropes had a purpose. Beastials were just a mistake as were people like Marianna.

The only thing he wanted from her was her sweet delicious death, only then could he claimed the boy she had given birth to.

He walked into the kitchen and found Elizabeth with the baby. She had the child in a bassinet covered in a blanket.

"Is it finished?" Elizabeth asked, her main attention staying with the child.

"Yes, my dear," Marcus said, coming up behind your. "Your 'friend' is dead."

"No matter," she said unfazed. She acted as if the woman's life had no meaning.

Marcus believed that every life was expendable under the right circumstances. That was his philosophy and obviously Elizabeth shared that same way of thinking.

"We must get the child back to my father," Marcus said as he paced the floor. "She is a prize he wants very badly."

"Marcus, this child is mine," Elizabeth said and touched the baby slightly. "I went through hell to get her, and I'm not giving her up." Elizabeth's voice was so harsh it sent to child crying louder than she had been. In fact, she had not stopped crying since she was born and her whaling had become louder since Marcus killed her mother.

It was like the child knew her mother was gone, and she was mourning her. Elizabeth needed to got out of Phoenix quickly before Vanessa's body was discovered. People in town knew that Vanessa was pregnant, and if Elizabeth traipsed around town with a baby they would eventually find out that the baby belonged to Dusk and he would come after her.

"Father will make sure she survives," Marcus said trying to reassure her. "Then you can be the mother that you always wished you had."

"That's not what this us about," Elizabeth scoured at him. The baby became more upset and cried out.

"There, there, my darling Cree," she said trying to smoothie the child. "No need to cry. Your mama's here."

The baby cried more at her touch. It was almost as if she knew what she had done. It didn't matter to Elizabeth, because in time this child would come to see her as her mother and love her.

She would be the perfect child and Elizabeth wouldn't settle for anything less.

"Here's the plan," Marcus said, but Elizabeth was too busy giving all her attention to the baby. "Are you listening?"

"Oh course, darling," she said but he had a feeling that she was speaking to the baby and not him.

"Listen up, Lizzie," he said loudly. He was rather agitated at the fact that she was deliberately ignoring him.

"Fine, I'm listening," she said and but she continued tending the baby. She had a bottle warming up and went over to the stove to check it.

"I'll have a private plane waiting at the airfield an hour from now. I want you be be out there and on that plane immediately. Mason and Faigon can't even suspect that woman just had a baby. Mason is better than a bloodhound, and Faigon is smart. They won't stop until they find that baby and take their revenge out on us. As far as they're concerned you don't exist and neither does the child."

"Dusk knows who I am and he knows I hate him, if he even suspects Cree's existence I'll be the first one he hunts down," Elizabeth said as she tested the formula to make sure it was the right temperature. "Ah, just right." She walked over the bassinet and picked up the baby. She sat down in one of the kitchen chairs and positioned the baby to nurse on the bottle.

"Now if I could please have your attention," he said and she looked up at him while feeding the baby. "There will be a plane waiting for you to take you to the estate in Virginia, and there will be a nursery already in place. You can stay there until the heat dies down. Also Father will be running some tests on the kid. He wants to know just how much potential power the girl has."

"That's fine with me," she said. "Just remember that Cree belongs to me, so don't you or your father think of taking her away from me."

"You keep acting like this and we won't have to. Now get you tail in gear so you and the brat can get the he'll out of here." He grabbed her arm and forced her to her feet. Little Cree was still cradled in her arms and cried. His loud intense tones were upsetting her which mad him more annoyed. "Would you keep her quiet?"

"If you would stop yelling she wouldn't be crying." She looked down at the baby and bounced her gently in her arms. "It's alright, sweetheart."

"Elizabeth, get you things together and get out of here now," Marcus demanded.

"And what about you?" she asked. the baby had finished the bottle and she began to burp her.

"I have unfinished business," he said.

"I'll be gone within the hour and with no trace just like you want," she said and put the baby back into the bassinet.

The hour had passed and she was about ready to leave. She had a half mile walk to her car and with a baby to tote if would take a while to get there. She had made two trips. One to carry all the things she needed for the baby for the trip, but if anyone saw her she didn't want them to see The baby. She came up with the plan to hide the baby in a long duffel bag so no one would see her. As long as the baby didn't start crying she wouldn't have a problem. She padded down the bag with blankets so the baby would be comfortable and zipped it about three fourths of the way so it wouldn't restrict her air.

She had a car seat in the trunk of her car. She was more than prepared having been planning this since almost the moment Vanessa told her she was pregnant. Elizabeth always wanted her own baby, but she couldn't have children and it was thanks to Doctor Everett Brown. She was the type born without power, an inactive and grew up around kids who were more than active. Even her own sister had powers. She felt that it wasn't fair that she was cheated out of it.

Brown promised that if she took part in an experiment she would get the powers her Sadian heritage owed her, but all the drugs seemed to do was hamper her ability to have a child of her own. Yes, it did give her powers of persuasion, but it was a weak power and it didn't work on everyone. It was her own fault this happened and spent years feeling sorry for herself, and when Vanessa told she was pregnant she had to jump at the chance at making that baby her own. Also knowing this baby would most likely became as active she had to have this child.

She would grow powerful and Elizabeth would have control of the girl. Then she would take revenge all those who used and abused her.

She reached her car before dark and she quickly situated the baby and prepared to drive off to the airstrip to meet Brown's private plane. Vanessa was just a fading memory and she had no remorse over her death. She rationalized in her mind that it was fate and things happened the way they we supposed to. If she would ever feel guilt over her friend's demise only time would tell.

That's the end of this chapter, but there is more to come when Dusk and Fanta return to Vanessa's cabin only to find her dead. Her killer is not far behind, but will they track him down or has Marcus bated them into a trap? Be here next time to find out. See you then.
