A few hours later while Vanessa was still enduring her forced nap inflicted upon her by one Marcus Hunter. He once again used her phone. He dialed a number and waited for it to ring, after about a ring the person on the other end.

"Where the hell have you been?" The man on the other end shouted so loud Marcus had to hold the phone away from his ear.

"Nice speaking with you too, Father," he said in a sarcastic tone. No one else would dare speak to Doctor Everett Brown the way Marcus dud. Being the man's son offered certain allowances.

"Enough with the pleasantries," Brown said. There was an obvious annoyance in his tone of voice. "What is the situation? Have you located Faigon yet?"

"No, but I know where Mason and Fanta took off to," Marcus said. "When I searched his cabin I found the phone number. Miss Moonstar finally admitted to me where he was."

"And where is that?" Brown snapped back. Marcus had a way of talking around his questions and not getting to the point, until his captive audience was on the brink of exhaustion.

"It's so obvious I'm surprised you hadn't guessed it," Marcus said, deliberately not answering his question. He dawned a smile knowing that this would agitate his father further.

"Would you just spit it out?" brown shouted into the phone. It was so loud that Marcus had to take the phone away from his ear.

As soon as his father's voice fell silent he chuckled and replied calmly. "Are you done yet?" Marcus waited for an answer, but only received silence. That meant only one thing. He had won this duel and control was his. "She's in main, and so is Mason." Marcus moved thee phone away from his ear again knowing what was coming next.

"What!?" Brown's shout vibrated through the phone, and if Marcus hadn't given Vanessa the sedative she surely would have heard it. "If they're in Main it's a good bet they went there on Faigon's command, and that means he commissioned a team to get into that underground lab."

"You mean I did," Marcus said with a laugh. "I only meant for that buffoon Dusk to get him out of the way. My plan was to get both women alone. You know Faigon gave him that serum that gives him immunity to my powers. With him out of the way Vanessa and little Fanta would be my willing slaves, but as it is I only have Vanessa.

"She's useless," Brown said. He was still agitated and Marcus knew why. Brown expected complete obedience, but Marcus had his own way of doing things.

"Not entirely so," Marcus said with a sly smirk running across his face. "Both Fanta and Dusk have an affection for this woman and when they realize that I have her they will come running.

"And how are you going to handle Mason?" his father asked him.

"With a little feminine help," he said, holding up a picture of Elizabeth. She was a sly one when it came to unwilling mean, but she talked herself in and out of some sticky situations like no other.

"Alright, Marcus." He heard his father give a deep breath. "I'll give you one chance, but I expect you to deliver Little Miss Faigon to me in a matter of days, and as for Mason and Moonstar... kill them."

"Consider it done," Marcus said and then hung up the phone.

"Not a second passed before the phone rang. Marcus picked it up curious about who it could be. If it was one of Vanessa's friends he didn't want them to know about him or what was going on there, so he just held the phone close to his ear and tried not to breathe until the caller made themselves known.

After a few seconds he heard a woman scream into his ear. "Marcus I know you're there, so stop playing around!"

"Bitsy, honey, calm down," he said in a sarcastic tone. He used a nick-name she hated.

"Don't ever call me that!" she shouted over the phone.

"I didn't hear you complaining the other night." She stayed silent as he smirked. He knew just how to get to her. "Listen. I need you to get over here right away. You have to watch over the hostage, while I go take care of some business.

"What kind of business?" she demanded more than asked.

"That's my business," he snapped. She was a good partner even though there were times when could annoy him.

"Fine, but remember our deal," she said. "I don't care what you do with Van, but the baby is mine."

"Of course, Elizabeth," he said and hung up the phone while rolling his eyes. For the life of him he couldn't understand why anyone would want a screaming brat that wasn't even theirs.
