Ariana's POV

"As the victim doesn't wish to press charges, Ariana Grande-Butera will not be sentenced to any prison time for the hit and run of Hailee Barker but will be on tag for a total of 3 months with a curfew of 9.00pm per night. You're not permitted to drive for the 3 months either" the judge ruled

I sighed in relief at the fact I wouldn't be going to jail. I mean I've watched orange is the new black and I don't think I could handle it. It was a personal jury with not many people. It was me, Frankie, Ashley, Hailee and her parents. Her parents gave me the dirtiest looks possible but I shook it off as Hailee was smiling at me reassuringly.

"You're dismissed" the judge said. I thanked him before standing up to leave. I was told to go to the police station after the court hearing to have my tag fitted

"I'm glad that's how it turned out" Frankie smiled hugging me from the side

"Me too but her parents don't look happy at all" I replied

"Oh well, the good thing is you're not going to jail" Ashley smiled

I smiled back at her. I wanted to just get out of these clothes I honestly looked terrible. I had a white blouse on with a black pencil skirt and a black blazer. I looked over my shoulder and saw Hailee's parents watching me

"I think I'm gonna go speak to Hailee" I said. Before they could reply I already walked towards the family

"Hey Ariana" Hailee smiled noticing my presence

"Hey. Are you feeling ok?" I asked biting my lip

"Yeah I'm feeling great" she smiled again. She always had a smile on her face

Her dad cleared his throat, placing his hand on Hailee's shoulder

"Um, Mr and Mrs Barker I just want to apologise again for what I uh did" I said twiddling my fingers. I'd started doing that when I was nervous

"I should hope so, I almost didn't think my daughter was going to survive" her dad replied sternly

I looked to the floor clicking the heels of my heels together

"I know I can't express how sorry I honestly am...I know sorry doesn't cut it but it's all I have" I said quietly

"Well, Miss Grande I hope you've learnt your lesson" her mother said, her face softened a bit

"I really have" I nodded "So when do you go back to school?" I asked Hailee

"Well I'm actually transferring to a different school next semester" she grinned

"Oh cool. Where are you transferring to?" I asked, licking my lips

"Republic High" she smiled

My eyes lit up. She was transferring to my school

"Omg! that's my school" I said excitedly

"No way! Oh wow thank god I know someone who goes there" she laughed

"You have to hang around with me...I mean uh if your parents don't mind" I said looking to the floor again

"I told you I'm 18. I make my own decisions" she whispered

"Well I have to go get my tag on but I'll text you" I smiled

"Okay. See you later" she replied, returning the smile

"It's so ugly and big. How am I supposed to hide this" I groaned in frustration looking down to my ankle where my newly fitted tag was. It was a big black band with a square monitor in the middle of it which told the police where I was.
