"I know your brain is getting worked up again hmm " He says soothingly as he pulls me closer.
How does this man know everything about me so well I don't know.
"Let's not jump to conclusions. Let's just enjoy this day together. No more talk of bad omens and impending doom, alright?" He kisses the top of my head.
And suddenly he gets a phone call.
“I need to take this ” he mutters, and his voice tinges with frustration.
He walks toward the balcony, sliding the glass door shut behind him.
I just watch him go, my heart clenching in concern.
I can see the tension in his posture, the way his shoulders stiffen as he answers the call.
On the other side of the glass, I can hear his voice low but strained.
“What do you mean it’s not done? I told you it needed to be sorted today!” he exclaims, his tone sounds so sharp.
I lean forward my eyes fixed on him, though the glass muffled most of his words.
I can tell by his gestures that the conversation is anything but pleasant—his free hand clenches into a fist, and his face is set in a grimace.
“Are you kidding me?” he snaps, his voice rising despite the distance.
“This is the third time this has happened! You need to fix this, and fix it now!”
There is a pause, and he drags a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply.
“No, I don’t want excuses. I want solutions. Do you understand?” His words were cut off as he listens for a moment longer before growling,
“Fine. Fix it. Now.” He ends the call with a forceful jab at the screen.
I can see the frustration etched on his face as he turns to walk back inside.
I wait in silence, giving him space, but I am worried.
When he steps back into the room, I ask softly,
“Everything okay?”
He sighs, running a hand over his face before sitting back down beside me
“It’s… work stuff ” he replies, he looks a little weary.
“Just another mess to clean up.” He glances at me, forcing a faint smile.
“Don’t mind me. I’m just… really tired of this.”
I place a comforting hand on his arm.
“You can talk to me, you know. I’m here.”
He nods, though his expression remained troubled.
“I know. I just… can’t right now. I need to figure this out first.”
