Kirti keeps on talking about her grandmother and her food.

And I'm missing my home so much

He told me that he'll take me there next week, but I can't wait.

I want to go home now only, it literally takes 2.5 hrs from here.

How about I sneak out , he will be busy in a meeting and I'll come back before he even gets to know.

Great plan

I slowly sneak out of the college campus, reach the bus station, and taking the first bus , field to my home.

" Mummum, Mami " I scream from the house outside

My insides roiling with happiness and excitement.

Ohh how long I haven't seen these people.

And suddenly the front door bursts open and out comes my Grandma, her white hair fluttering in the gentle breeze.

" Pupu" she exclaims with happiness, wrapping me in a warm embrace.

Her eyes glistening with tears of joy.

"Look at you, remembering her Mummum after so long ! How are you, sweetie?" She squeezes me into her body.

And I feel like I am that little kid again who used sleep on her lap

" Mammam" I hug her tightly , my voice choking with emotions.

I've never got my mother.

This woman has been my father and mother equivalently.

"I'm wonderful now, I missed you so much." I giggle jumping up and hiding myself into her bosom,

" Naishu " The voice on the other end makes me glance over her shoulder to find my Mami emerging from the house, a wide grin on her face.

My another mother.

These two woman are my the bedrock of my support system since childhood.

I break down into tears seeing her in front of me after so long.

"Welcome home, honey ," She envelopes me in another hug nearly squishing my bones.

" She forgot about us, Looks like she found new people there "
She teases me wiping my eyes with the corner of her saree.

She is wrong

No matter how many people comes and goes into my life, nobody can replace them two.

"Don't be silly. College has just kept me super busy, that's all." I set my bag down on the porch and hug both of them together.

" Come inside " They pull me into the room.

As I step into that familiar threshold of my childhood home, the scent of warm curries, sunshine and old books envelopes me like a comforting blanket.
