The next morning, she called the police to inform them about last night's events. Officer AJ asked Elizabeth to lead them to the lonely spot where Elizabeth's car was being crashed into the other night. The police joined by Elizabeth drove to the spot. Elizabeth narrated the whole incident.
"Did you, by chance, see his face?" asked Officer AJ.
"Not really," replied Elizabeth. "He ran away before I had even got out of my car."
The policemen looked around for clues. Elizabeth looked around too. Then, she noticed something which was under her car. A number plate!
'WXT-9401'
"That number plate isn't mine, I'm pretty sure that's the other car's." Elizabeth said. "That's a great clue, Elizabeth! This will help us a lot. Now we can track down the driver!" said the officer.
The policemen promised to call Elizabeth if they had found the driver. Elizabeth went back home.
A few days later, Elizabeth got a call from her cousin in France.
"Hi Anna! How are you?"
"Hello Elizabeth! I'm fine. What about you?"
"I'm fine too. How are you? How is the weather there?"
"It is quite cold here, Elizabeth. Oh, and by the way, I heard about your midnight-followed-by-a-stranger problem. Did you find the driver of the car yet?"
"Not yet, the police are working on it."
"Well, good luck in finding the culprit. I'm sure YOU will, even if the police don't."
"What on Earth does that mean?"
"Do you remember when we were playing those scavenger hunting games when we were younger? And we used to get those clues to find stuff? You used to be an expert! I always think you'd make a great investigator!"
"I don't know, Anna. Besides, I've grown from when we were younger. I love solving puzzles and stuff, but I don't think I'd make a good detective."
"It's up to you anyway! I need to go now. Au revoir! I'll talk to you later!"
