After The Mockingjay 5
Katniss's POV
My eyes gently fluttered open to the sweet sound of birds chirping outside the window. Through the creamy white curtains, the bright light which showed off early morning shone radiantly throughout the quant room which now belonged to Peeta and I. Oh, Peeta, I forgot that I was here, but better yet, I forgot about the nightmares which kept me up all night, and luckily they hadn't visited me last night. A sweet relief filled my insides at the thought of finally getting a break from the monsters of my past.
A light squeeze around my waist made me turn, and I looked up towards Peeta, his peaceful blue eyes looking into mine. "Good morning, beautiful. I forgot what all this was like...it's been a while," he smiled, his cute small dimples forming at the edges of his grin making me blush. Although I knew I loved Peeta, more than anyone or anything I still wasn't used to his never ending compliments that made me turn as red as a cherry.
"Me too...But with you, it seems to go away. All of it," I said, looking back up towards him.
Our eyes locked, sending a brief moment of happiness into me, and I felt myself pulling in. Peeta's soft lips brushed up against mine, and we kissed, sending a huge set of fireworks through my body. I felt him lightly go on, and I didn't want to stop. I never wanted it to stop. Peeta made my heart beat faster and slower all at once, and when I kissed him, there weren't ways to explain ho much I wished for more. It reminded me of our past, our first kiss in the cave, and our kiss on the beach, but most importantly it reminded me that he was still here, and that I would never loose the boy with the bread.
When we pulled back, I couldn't help but grin, looking down at my braid while a huge blush crossed over my olive skin. "Peeta, what do you think about going into the woods today?" I began, running my fingers along the end of my braid, a bad habit of mine as I glanced up at him. "My father used to take me to this small little lake, it was surrounded by the most gorgeous flowers and trees which let the sun shine through. In fact, it's where I learned how to swim."
I'd never seen Peeta smile so much. His hand still wrapped around my waist, he pulled me in, leaving a light kiss on my forehead. "I'd love to, Katniss."
After a few minutes of lying there, Peeta stroking my arm, while I laid against his chest, I decided it was time to get up, so we got off the bed, not minding to make it. Instead, we just threw the white and orange covers sloppily over the top as an 'attempt' to making it.
"I'm going to shower." I said, and Peeta smiled.
"I'll make breakfast."
I walked down the hallway, past a few other guest rooms, which Peeta stored all his art work in, then turned into the large bathroom. In the middle of the room was the huge bath tub, a shower in the corner, and sinks set all around the cupboard which lined the mirrors against the blue wall. In a small room that was connected to here was were the toilet was.
I turned on the water, pressing a few precise buttons, then undressed myself, throwing my clothes onto the floor. Shivering, I stepped into the warm waters that calmed my shivering, and heated my body. For a few minutes, I just stood back, enjoying the warmth which came from the water, then I decided I should get moving. I pressed an automatic button for shampoos and conditioners, and over fifty different scents popped up in front of me that said, "matches for your hair type." All I needed was shampoo!
My fingers ran along the screen looking through the different scents, candy rush, red rose, tangy tangerine, and even swirling sour apple. I finally found one I thought Peeta might like, along with myself, it was fresh cut lavender daisy. I rubbed it through my hair, then washed my body, cleaning off all the soap with the comfortable drops of water. When I was done, I stepped out of the shower, drying myself before realizing I had no clothes! Ugh!
