The tour was cancelled.

Between Hyunjin having to go on hiatus, the fans becoming increasingly more dangerous, and the members just being exhausted and mentally drained, it was agreed upon that the tour would come to a stop.

We were now back in Korea and all the members went to surprise Hyunjin at his place. However, I had returned to work to catch up on everything I missed while away.

It was around midnight, and I was still in my office working on my computer when I heard a knock on the door. I turn, surprised when I see Hyunjin standing in the doorway.

He had changed. It had only been a month since I last saw him, but there was a visible difference. He was more relaxed.

"I checked your room but you weren't there," his voice was calm and quiet due to the late-night hours. Yet, he seemed tense, like he needed to say something.

Smiling softly, I answered back, "I was just catching up on work. How have you been?" I turn my chair to face him as he steps inside, leaning against the examination table.

He was silent for an instant, as if contemplating his next words, "Look, y/n-"

I cut him off before he could say anything else because I knew what this was about, "Don't worry about it," I gave him an understanding look. After all, I knew he was worried about the kiss we shared.

Rubbing his face with a sigh, he spoke in a distressed tone, "How could I not worry about it?" The look in his eyes didn't show regret, instead, they showed desperation.

My gaze softened at his words because I could tell this was eating him alive since it happened, and to be honest, it has been in my head nonstop as well. I tried to ignore all the feelings and thoughts about that incident but they clung to me regardless.

"Hyunjin..." The words couldn't leave my mouth, I didn't have a clue what to say. Do I comfort him? Apologize? There was nothing I could say that would help him besides what he wanted to hear.

Taking a breath, he looked at me, "I meant what I said that night. Every word. I understand that I would only burden you..." I felt my heart skip a beat due to his words, and I was going to speak until he continued, "But I don't care... I know I'm being selfish but I can't ignore this feeling. It's burning me from the inside out."

For a moment, I just stared in silence with my eyes wide with a mix of many emotions.

"I understand..." I finally spoke up and I saw him straighten up as if he was waiting to hear every word that came out of my mouth. Looking him in the eyes, I continue, "and... I would be lying if I said I didn't feel the same way."

Hyunjin's face turns into a look of excitement as a smile spreads across it and a glimpse of hope appears in his eyes, but before he speaks I cut him off.

"But... it won't work out that easily," I motion to his mostly healed head, "I mean look at you. Someone put you in the hospital because we walked together."

It was like he didn't even listen to a word I said as he stepped closer and held out his hand to me. I was a bit taken aback by this gesture but I took his hand regardless. Walking at a quick pace, Hyunjin led me to wherever he wanted to take me and I just let him.

My eyes widened when we walked out the front doors of the building and I was getting nervous. I was about to speak up until he suddenly stopped and that's when I realized where he had taken me. There is a flower cart outside the building that is run by an older-looking man.

Hyunjin casually spoke to the man as he picked out a bouquet. I was looking around nervously for any people who could see this and cause a fuss about it.

"Y/n?" Hyunjin spoke up, tapping my shoulder causing me to jump slightly. Chuckling at my nervousness, he held out a beautiful bouquet of roses. My eyes widened slightly as he grabbed my hand and placed the bouquet in it without question.

I looked up at him with wide eyes, in shock at this whole new nature of his. Like he wasn't ashamed to be himself, regardless of the public eye.

I was speechless as I stared into his eyes.

"Y/n... I don't care about what happened to me. I don't care if it happens again, either." He reached for my free hand and held it with both of his as he gazed into my eyes with a look showing I was the most important person to him, "If it means I get to be with you. The only girl who sees me as me, who saved my life and showed me empathy without even knowing who I was."

My heart was racing more and more with each word he spoke. For some reason, my eyes had a burning sensation as tears welled up in them.

Suddenly, the sound of something dropping broke our moment and Hyunjin and I both turned to see Chan and Changbin standing on the sidewalk looking at the two of us with wide eyes. The sound of something dropping was a bag of what looked like leftovers from wherever they were coming from.

I was shocked and was about to say something when Hyunjin suddenly turned me back to him, his hand on the back of my neck. It all happened so quickly and before I knew it his lips were on mine.

My eyes widened at first but I soon melted into it as I kissed back, not wanting this moment to be ruined by anyone or anything. The bouquet I held at my side fell from my hands as I wrapped my arms around Hyunjin's neck.

At that moment, I didn't care about what would become of this. The only thing on my mind was Hyunjin and me.

Hey guys 😀
Sorry for the wait don't chop my head off 🙏
