On a seemingly ordinary day, Lucius and Paimon are in the Collective of Plenty, intending on grabbing a few vegetables from Varesa, hopefully on a friend discount.
But instead, they would come across Iansan near the entrance of the tribe.
Iansan: Oh, "Tumaini" and Paimon... Fancy that. I didn't expect to run into you two here.
Lucius: Iansan, nice to see you. What are you doing here by yourself?
Iansan: I'm actually looking for some help. The Collective of Plenty is holding a bodybuilding competition soon, and so many people have been busy squeezing in their last-minute workouts that we've run out of staff for patrols.
Paimon: Oh, so you've stepped in to cover their work. But... don't you have a last-minute workout to do, too?
Iansan: I'm good. For one thing, I believe peak conditioning can only be achieved through consistent training over a long timespan. Cramming in a workout at the last minute does next to nothing for you. But more pertinently... Well, as you can probably imagine, I'm not able to compete in any of the most popular weight classes, and there's no real competition in my own weight class...
Paimon: Yeah, that makes sense...
Iansan then eyes Paimon very mischievously, as the latter immediately realised.
Paimon: Ohh no, don't look at Paimon like that! We are not the same weight class, and no way is Paimon competing against you! Lucius, let's just help with the patrol, alright? Otherwise, Iansan's gonna make Paimon enter a bodybuilding competition...
Iansan: Hahaha... Perfect, I managed to get you on board with just one look.
Lucius: Paimon is quite easy to convince.
Paimon: Hey...
Lucius: But you are...
Paimon: Hmph!
Lucius: Anyways, Iansan, we'll help out.
Iansan: Thank you both. It should be pretty routine — just keep your eyes peeled and make sure nothing strange is going on in the area. That'll free me up to check the other section. Let's meet back at the settlement when we're both done.
Lucius: Alright.

Just a few hundred metres southwest of where they talked to Iansan, Lucius and Paimon's patrol would lead them to a small cave, where a hilichurl is seemingly sleeping.
Paimon: Hey, there's a hilichurl here! Is it... sleeping? Doesn't look very hostile. Why is it hiding away here?
Lucius: No clue.
Lucius carefully takes a step closer as the hilichurl suddenly wakes up and looks at him.
Lucius: Hm?
Lucius tilts his head as the hilichurl continues eyeing him for a few more seconds, seemingly processing his arrival.
Hilichurl: O... lah.
Lucius: Olah? From what Ella Musk told me about the hilichurl language, that means hello.
Paimon: Why would a hilichurl say hello? Is this one of those peaceful hilichurls we very rarely come across?
