"Morning." I sigh looking over to the half asleep Chris on the opposite single bed. "I've got to go back to the station today." I start just as he cuts me off. "What, why are you going back?" Chris asks with concern. "Dunno, nothing big I think, Julia just asked me back." By now I had learned the name of the woman who had, I guess, interviewed me. I head out the door after patting Marco on the head.
After a short walk up the hill from the Hostel I arrive at the Police station to see Julia stood outside leaning against the wall. "Hey!" She says with a smile. "Hi!" I reply. Julia wasn't to much older than me and she was quite new to the job so we got on well. "So what was it you wanted?" I ask. Her face goes stern. "I wanted to ask, why did you become homeless?"
"I'm sorry to be rude but I need to know so I can help." She says. I stand nodding slowly. "Well it's- it's because," I bite my lip nervously, I mean she is still a police officer, but I probably should. I would get father arrested and that would be amazing, but what about my family? "-my father was abusive a-and he k-killed Chirs' mum."
Julia looks at me, then walks inside the station. I run to catch up with her. "I would like to put out a warrant for Mr- what's his first name?" She asks looking back to me. "Paul." I say. "Mr Paul Drake." The man at the desk taps in information into the computer. "Put him down for abuse and murder." The man continues to type.
"Where do you live?" Julia asks looking to me sternly. "That big house outside town, umm red wick drive." I finally say remembering my old address. The man types that into the computer. "You can go now." Julia says looking at me. "You can go now." She says again. I turn and leave in an upset manner.
When I arrive back at the Hostel Chris runs up to me. "What happened?" He asks. Marco jumps up at my leg. "They are going to arrest my dad." I say with a small smile. Chris looks at me in my eyes. "Dad's going to get arrested?" Peter asks from the end of the hall way. He looks sad but had little happiness in his eyes.
"I know we didn't tell you but you might have told someone." I say to Peter. "He killed your mum?!" He asks looking to Chris who nods. "I wondered what was in that bag." He murmurs.
DING!
My phone beeps as I receive a text.
Julia-"You're gonna want to get here now, come to your house NOW"I look up to Chris and Peter.
