.............

Tears still flowing, they obeyed.

Lia turned on the cold water, her hands shaking so badly she could barely aim it.

Yn stood beside her, both letting the icy stream wash over their arms, soaking them.

They cried the whole time—quiet, miserable sobs echoing in the small space.

Then they turned.

Red-eyed. Sniffling. Silent.

"Lia,hands out and miss.yn go and stand near the wall"Jungkook ordered.

“Arms out,” he ordered.

Lia’s breath hitched.

She stepped forward slowly, her legs trembling.

She extended her arms, palms up, damp from the cold water.

Jungkook didn’t hesitate. He picked up the wooden ruler and tested its weight in his hand.

His eyes—dark and unwavering—met Lia’s, but they held no sympathy.

She was just another student who’d broken the rules.

“Look straight ahead,” he commanded.

She obeyed, tears already brimming.

CRACK.

The first strike landed on her forearm—a clean, merciless blow.

Lia let out a sharp gasp, but bit her lip to keep from crying out.

Again.

CRACK.

Again.

CRACK.

Her breath came in gasps now, tears falling freely.

Jungkook’s face remained hard.

Again.

CRACK.

. Lia’s arms dropped to her sides, trembling, as she choked on a sob.

“Dismissed,” Jungkook said.

Lia turned and stumbled toward the door, clutching her arms to her chest, tears streaming.

He didn’t watch her leave. His focus shifted to Yn.

“Your turn,” he said, voice steady, not an ounce of guilt in his tone.

Yn’s lips trembled.

Her arms were already damp from earlier, but they had dried in the tense wait.

Silently, she walked over to the sink and turned the tap on, the cold water falling on  her skin as she dampened them once again.

She stood there a moment too long, her tears mixing with the water.

Jungkook watched her in silence, his jaw tightening. Something inside him shifted.

Seeing her so small, so broken—it stabbed at him in a way he couldn’t ignore.

When she turned, her shoulders trembling, arms held out, he saw it all—the exhaustion, the regret, the quiet acceptance.

Before she could brace herself, he stepped forward.

“Yn,” he said softly, his voice a sharp contrast to the harsh tone from earlier.

She blinked at him, confused, eyes wide and wet.

He reached out, his fingers closing gently around her wrist.

“Come here,” he murmured, tugging her toward him.

She obeyed, steps hesitant, until she was standing right in front of him.

Slowly, he turned her to face him, then lifted her chin with a single finger.

His expression softened—still hard, but no longer cold.

“I can’t,” he whispered.

Before she could react, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, pressing her tear-streaked face into his chest.

“You’ve learned enough today,” he murmured, his voice low but filled with an aching tenderness.

“That’s enough.”

She let out a choked sob against his shirt, her body trembling.

He held her tighter, one hand stroking her hair.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered.

“I know,” he replied, his voice catching.

“I know.”

She leaned into him, overwhelmed with relief and confusion.

He hugged her tightly for a moment, then let her go.

“Go,” he whispered, softer now.

Yn nodded, wiping her tears as she slipped out of the office.

Outside the office, Lia was waiting, arms crossed gently over her sore forearms.

Her expression softened when she saw Yn approaching, tears still clinging to her lashes.

“How are you, Yn?” Lia asked, her voice surprisingly gentle.

“Did he… hit you hard?”

Yn’s chest tightened with guilt. She swallowed hard.

“He didn’t hit me, Lia,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

“I—I was crying too much, and he… he let me go. I don’t know how, but he—”

Lia’s eyes widened, but then she cut Yn off with a small, shaky smile. “Shh,” she said, voice low and soothing.

“I’m glad, Yn. Really, I’m so happy for you. I was praying he’d let you go.”

Yn blinked, tears brimming. “But… you’re not angry? He punished you and then just let me—”

Lia shook her head slowly. “No,” she whispered.

“Honestly, I’m relieved he let you go. I wouldn’t wish that on you.I wouldn’t want to see you in that much pain.It was painful”

Jungkook stood just inside the cracked office door, listening.

His dark eyes softened as he watched the scene.

He tried to tell himself that he’d let Yn go because he wanted to see how their relationship might grow—how two enemies could become close.

But somewhere,he knew that wasn’t the whole truth.

He just couldn’t bear to see his girl in pain.

A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips, and he shook his head slightly.

Sometimes, even the strictest professor Jeon had a weakness.

And for him, that weakness was Yn.
