The corridor outside the department
office was empty.

Too empty.

Yn stood still, heart pounding so loud she could barely hear anything else.

Taehyung, standing beside her with his hands in his pockets, looked around casually.

“You’re shaking,” he murmured.

“I know,” she whispered. “Let’s just do it before I lose the guts.”

She straightened her back and knocked on the half-open door of the department office.

“Come in,” the older staff attendant called.

Yn stepped inside, wearing the calmest face she could manage.

“Ah, Yn-ssi. What brings you here?”

“Professor Jeon asked me to collect tomorrow’s question papers. He said he’d be in class till late and needed them in his office before leaving campus,” she said smoothly.

The man squinted. “Hmm… he didn’t mention anything to me.”

Yn’s heart stuttered.

“He must’ve forgotten. He seemed in a rush when he told me,” she said, voice steady despite her panic.

The man hesitated, then shrugged and stood up.

“Alright, you’ve been around here often enough. Just don’t lose them, or Jeon will have my head,” he said with a chuckle, unlocking the drawer.

Yn forced a smile. “Of course, sir.”

He handed her the sealed brown envelope.

Her palms sweated as her fingers closed around it.

“Have a good day,” she muttered and left quickly.

Taehyung was already texting someone.

“They’re in the backup hallway,” he said. “Let’s go.”

They made their way through the back wing of the college building, leading to an lecture room where BLACKPINK and Jennie were waiting.

Rose closed the door behind them the second they entered.

“Did you get it?” Lisa asked, standing up straight.

Yn raised the envelope. “Let’s move fast.”

Jennie pulled out gloves, a scanning app.

“Put them on the table,” she said.

Yn hesitated as she opened the seal with a blade.

“Okay. No touching with bare hands. Take photos, no flipping pages with fingers. Scan and go,” Jennie ordered like a pro.

Lisa and Jisoo got to work. Snap. Snap. Snap.

Rose handled the page flips.

Jennie scanned each page onto her tablet.

Taehyung kept his ear on the hallway.

“Faster” he announced. “And don’t smudge the corners.”

“We’re not criminals, Tae,” Jisoo muttered.

“You are literally stealing official government-sealed exam papers,” he replied. “Yes, you are.”

A loud laugh echoed from down the hall.
