Chapter 14

"It's true, I've been meeting with your friend Madelynn for the past week and a half. But I'm not cheating on you. I asked her to come down two weeks ago because I wanted to throw you a really special birthday party. I know you two have been friends for the longest time so I assumed she knew everything you liked and disliked. When you told me how I was being such a jerk and so distant when we went to the baby's ultrasound last month I really felt shitty and wanted to make it up to you. You weren't supposed to find out until tomorrow, on your birthday." Vernon explains.

Oh shit, I forgot my birthday was tomorrow. I'm going to be 18. I suddenly feel so terrible for yelling at Ally and making her cry. And I feel even more terrible for not trusting Vernon.

I leap into his open arms "I'm so sorry" I start to cry. "I ruined everything" I dig my face into his neck. "It's okay Kylie, I love you and only you, alright? Don't you ever forget that. I may seem distant sometimes but it's only because I'm stressed out most of the time. And I don't want you to ever feel like it's your fault okay." He says in my ear then kisses me on the lips.

"Can we go home?" I ask. "Of course baby. Madelynn and Ally are at our house too okay." He informs me. We get into my car and leave. On the ride back to the house he takes my hand in his and smirks at me.

When we get there I'm trying to think of all the possible ways I can apologize to Ally. I feel like such a bitch.

"Oh Kylie" both girls run up to me. I am honestly so shocked. "Hey" I manage to get out. "Listen, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you the way I did. I hope you can forgive me." I say to Ally.

"It's alright I understand, I probably would have acted the same way. But I don't think I would try to beat anybody up while pregnant" she starts laughing. I laugh with her.

"Wait. You were going to beat me up?" Maddy asks in true horror. At that Ally and I laugh even harder while Vernon and Maddy look shocked as hell.

"Are you really a fighter?" Vernon questions once I've calmed down. "Oh yeah, she's hella scary too once she gets mad. You should have seen her last year. She almost broke Briana's ribs." Ally answers for me while chewing on gum.

"Oh yeah that was a crazy night" Maddy adds in. "Okay well I know never to mess with you." Vernon looks me in the eye putting his hands up in surrender. We all laugh.

I look at the clock on the wall, it's reads 11:59 PM. "Guys I'm going to be 18 in one minute." I excitedly cheer. We start the countdown and when the clock strike 12 Vernon gives me the biggest kiss.

"Happy Birthday Kylie!" They all say in unison. "You should go to bed, you have a big day ahead you tomorrow" I obey Maddy and tell the girls goodnight. Vernon follows me to the bedroom.

"Happy Birthday Kylie, I love you" He says kissing my forehead. "I love you too" I smile.

When I wake up Vernon and the girls take me out to do all of my favorite things. They make the day feel so extra special I can't even believe it. And then it just so happens that my favorite rapper Nicki Minaj is in town. Hansol gets me front row tickets and we have the best night of my life so far.

He and I sing along with Nicki the whole time. He holds me from behind as we sway back and forth. I want to jump up and down so desperately but I don't know if that's good for the baby. "NICKI I LOVE YOU" Vernon yells. He then kisses me and I can feel the sweat on his body.

We head home and I am so exhausted from all of today's events. I have the most wonderful boyfriend and friends in the world.

Just as I think the day is over Vernon drive away from the house. "Um what are you doing" I ask curiously. He doesn't answer me. He just looks nervous and it's making me feel nervous.

We drive up to a park that has a pathway lit by candles. "What is this" I'm pretty sure my eyes are literal hearts right now. Vernon opens my door for me and helps me out.

It's then that I notice Ally and Maddy in the background holding their phones up. I'm still confused as to what happening but I decide to go along with it.

Vernon takes both of my hands in his and kneels down in front of me. No. He's not. Oh no. We're too young. I. What.

He pulls out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. "Kylie Marie Velasquez, will you marry me?" His hands are shaking and so is his voice. My eyes start to tear up. "Yes. Yes. Oh my God." I cry out. He slides the ring on my finger and smiles up at me.

He gets up and embraces me. We kiss for the longest time and it's the most passionate one we've had so far. I start to laugh and cry at the same time. I can hear Maddy and Ally clapping in the background but I can't take my eyes away from Vernon.
