Time has run out for me. I began this record last year and now, it is time to enter the battle. I will not say that I am unafraid, because that would be a lie. I am terrified. I don't want to die, I don't want anyone to die. I have an army at my flanks and I am to lead them into battle.

I sit here, writing, under the darkening sky, beside the lake. I know that in a few moments Quia will return with the blind dragon from Gringots and that will begin what is bound to be the longest night of my life. Voldemort has already spoken to all of us.

If I die tonight or the early hours of tomorrow, know this, my babies Fafnir and Fawn- I love you so, so much. I hope that one day we will be reunited. I hope and pray that I can change what has been written. I hope you will forgive me for the way you were both conceived, that you will love both of your fathers.

And Fred, I am sorry. I am so, so sorry. If I die in your place, know that I love you. I am sorry for what has happened. Please, take this account and know that I loved you.

And Draco, my darling Draco. Please, know that I love you also. If things were different...

And now to all of those who trust and believe in me. Thank you. I pray that this succeeds.

Thus I shall end my account and leave to all of you my thoughts and experiences laid bare at your feet. I can hear Quia's wing beats as she approaches.

Good bye, my loved ones.

It's been many years since that entry and now I write again, with a different hand, a wiser and more experienced one. It has taken many reviews of my memories of the night of the Battle, each time it seems more terrifying and horrific. Many accounts have been made of the Battle, each telling a different tale of how it happened. But the truest account, the most detailed, is the one I am about to tell you. The true account of the Battle of Hogwarts.

I watched the moon rise as the great dragon Quia landed on the banks of the lake, the white, blind dragon landing beside her. I nodded to her as she did to me. I walked towards the blind dragon, who bent his head to me, allowing me to stroke his scared snout. We said nothing to one another, it wasn't needed. We could all feel the weight of the coming events that pressed onto my shoulders.

Together we made our way into the forest.

We reached the settlement, where everyone was waiting, shivering with anticipation. I felt bile in my throat. I tightened the strap of one of my gauntlets and took a deep breath. I was to make a speech that would become legend, standing in ancient armor tailored just for me under the rising blood red moon. I realize now, looking back upon myself, how much of an impressive figure I looked, my long hair tumbling behind me, my helmet under one arm, my sword on my hip.

"Tongiht," I said strongly, looking out at the sea of faces, looking up to me, "we fight. Tonight we make history. Tonight, we will change the wrongs of the past and make a better, brighter future. The Dark Lord will fall! We will rise victorious! The future lies with us and we will make it great!"

A cheer arose, but I didn't feel their excitement, I felt only dread and fear. But I didn't show it.

A silver patronus burst into the clearing, a fox. It spoke with Seamus's voice.

"Harry Potter has arrived. He has gone in search. We are preparing."

Then the patronus darted away and I turned to my army.

"Let us go forth," I said.

I led them out of the forest, onto the grand lawns. I had the leaders at my sides, all but Levicie, who was back in the forest with the other Werewolves, preparing. Walking with me was Pisica, Krumb, Crookshanks, Bane, Buck, Archibald and the three vampires, Alicia, Johanan and Kesian. I rode my Thestral, Toffee.
