I flew with the winds until morning broke on the horizon, which is when I flew myself downwards to see where I'd been taken. All I could see was a vast expance of sea below me, I was lost. I soared back up into the air and cast She, who leapt out and stood in the air.
"Please, take me to dry land," I said to her breathlessly, I was getting tired.
She nodded and set off at a brisk pace, me having to push myself to keep going. Eventualy I could see land and I felt my heart leap with excitment. We flew downwards and my paws touched down on the high, blustery cliff top. I felt the short, dry grass crackle between my pads and I let out a roar of pure releif. She jumped back into me and I padded along the shore line, my head low and heavy with its great burden. After a time I came to a large forest and I wandered through into it, feeling so tired as I had been up most of the nights in the previous six days. I felt my pace slow in this forest and I laid myself down in the soft leaf mould, my eyes closing and instantly I was in a troubled sleep.
"Have you brought the girl?" the voice demanded, far off in my dreams.
"No, my Lord," said Snape, "she escaped us."
"You incompetent fools!" bellowed the voice, "If I hadn't got a need for you, I would feed you all to Nagini. Bring me a Muggle or Mud Blood. NOW!"
There was scuffling in the distance as people moved about, then the whimper of a person as they were thrown onto the ground at Voldemort's feet. He raised a wand and cursed them, again and again. Then he stopped and I heard him back away from the moaning body.
"She's listening," he muttered aloud, "the girl can hear us."
"My Lord?" said Lucious quietly.
"She can hear us, everything we say and do," he murmured.
"Who is she?"
"A girl that doesn't exist, it would appear. Bring me Grubbelle. He has the results of the in-depth search of the Ministry's records."
There was silence for a long while, the only thing I could hear was the faint sounds of Nagini's smooth belly on the marble floor. Then there was a noise as another entered te room.
"My Lord?" they said in a deep and scraping voice.
"Don't play with me, Grubbelle, it's a dangerous game. Now, the results?"
"There are few things on this girl, this Caramela Wincroft. Born in Bellumauslo, on the border of Norfolk. Muggle parents. No records of her at Hogwarts, it seems. Hardly any eye witnessings. She has never been to the Ministry of Magic that has been recorded."
"I have heard enough," said Voldemort coldly, "do a further, deeper, search. Outside of the Ministry also. I must know her weaknesses."
Grubbelle left and I felt releif swim through me dimly in my sleep. Voldemort didn't know who I was, not truly. Then a door banged open and something large was dragged in and dropped harshly on the floor.
"My Lord, we found him in the Dark Forest," said Snape distastefully, "he has not stopped talking of something in the stars."
"She is coming," said a mystical, far away voice of a Centaur, "She is coming."
"What is he blithering on about?" demanded Voldemort.
"Courage, Love, Protector, Defendor, Releaser, Dragon Lord, Powerful One, She," said the Centaur quietly, in a hushed voice.
