Ashton
I came back from school as usual, sighing in relief. I greeted my mother with a kiss on her forehead.
"Hi mum." I grinned.
"You have a good day today?" She questioned with a hint of concern in her voice.
"Uh, Yeah mum, i-it was a good day, actually." I stuttered a bit, avoiding eye contact so she won't see the slight sadness I had in them.
I quickly walked away before she could ask me anymore questions about how my day was. I heard her say something, but instead of answering I walked up the stairs and into my room.
I threw my bookbag across my room and slumped onto my bed.
"What did I do wrong?" I asked myself. I kept on thinking about the Blonde Boy yelling at me. He really hates me. But then again, he said he was sorry... I guess I shouldn't think about it anymore. So I rolled over to grab ahold of my laptop and opened it up.
"Online.... Chat...Dot...Com." I said aloud as i typed it onto the search bar. OnlineChat.com was my favourite website to go when I felt down. It helped to talk to strangers when it felt like you can't talk to anyone else.
Even thought my mother has told me countless times that I shouldn't be talking to strangers, I didn't listen. And neither did any of my other friends.
I logged onto my account with my username "MopHead99."
I knew it wasn't the best username but it used to be my nickname when I was younger and it didn't really matter anyway.I studied the list of names that had the green button that indicated they were online. "Drumm3rboi69" I muttered to myself as I clicked on his username and instantly messaged him.
MopHead99: u like drumming? ;)
MopHead99: oops i meant *:)
I patiently waited for him to answer back, after a few more minutes of waiting I've come to the conclusion that it would probably take him a while. So i searched for new people to text in the mean time.
I scrolled through the list.
"Julemmo96? That's a weird name..." I whispered to myself. I clicked on his username and just when I was about to type, I heard a DING!
"oh, he answered!" I quickly said as I went back to my first chat with Drumm3rboi69.
Drumm3rboi69: yeah, asl?
"What the fuck does ASL mean?" I questioned myself. "Google always has the answer" I continued as I opened another tab and searched up what ASL meant.
"Age, sex, and location?" I don't know why, but I was creeped out by the sudden interest Drumm3rboi69 had for all this information.
But either way, I decided to tell him.
MopHead99: 16, Male, Australia.
Drumm3rboi69: i'm just looking for hot chicks, bye.
Drumm3rboi69 Disconnected.
"Uh-Um..." Is all i could stutter out of my mouth. "Wow, rude much?" I said in anger.
I exited the chat and finally continued with the weird Julemmo96 person. "Hopefully he's not a dick like everyone else I've talked to today on here... and in school." I sighed.
I quickly typed a message for Julemmo96.
MopHead99: hey.

While I was scrolling through the list of online strangers I could talk to, i heard a DING! For some odd reason I got excited, as if I had gotten a puppy for Christmas. But it was just a message, and I knew that. I guess for once I was happy someone had decided to message me first.
MopHead99: hey.
MopHead99? Really? Sounds like a 12 year old boy who had none other than a Poptropica username to choose from. But I decided to answer anyway.
Julemmo96: hi.
It only took a couple of seconds for this MopHead99 to answer back.
MopHead99: ASL? only if you're comfortable though :(
"Um, okay." I thought. There was no way I was giving this guy my information, so I put false info.
Julemmo96: 17, Female, U.S.A. You?
I felt bad for lying, but fuck, why should I? I don't know the dude. And I guess it was a bit creepy pretending to be a girl, but whatever.
MopHead99: I like your American accents :) 16, Male, Australia.
Julemmo96: thanks.
This guy was from Australia, too?
Or maybe he was lying like I was...
I continued typing.Julemmo96: What's your name?
I expected this anonymous person to answer quickly, and he did. DING! except this time it wasn't a message.
MopHead99 Disconnected.
All the excitement that was in me, dropped suddenly. "What the fuck did I do wrong?" I questioned the laptop screen. I shut my laptop and threw it on the floor, causing a loud thumping sound to occur.
I was tired of people disconnecting.
So, I locked my door and went to sleep for the rest of the afternoon and night.-
Ashton (A few minutes before)
DING!... DING!
I enjoyed that sound, the sound that someone actually took the time to message me back. I checked on the message that Julemmo96 sent me.
Julemmo96: Thanks.
Julemmo96: What's your name?I was pleased someone actually wanted to get to know me, so i quickly typed.
MopHead99: Asht-
Knock. Knock.
I heard someone knock on my bedroom door before I finished typing so I exited off the website and shut my laptop before sending the message.
I got up and stumbled across all the clothes on the floor, heading for the door.
I opened it, "Yeah mum?" I asked as soon as I saw her familiar face.
"Ashton... Are you okay? I just..." She mumbled.
I interrupted, "Mum, i'm fine. Really, I am. I was just reading a book." I continued, "You don't have to worry about me." I gave her a sympathetic face before she decided to leave me be.
I closed the door after I saw her disappear down the stairs. Then I quickly opened up my laptop and logged onto OnlineChat.com once again.
Luckily, I remembered the anonymous girls username; Julemmo96.
I quickly typed it into the "Search Users" spot and waited for the page to load. After a few more seconds, the page loaded and it showed one username "Julemmo96" It read.
"Just what I was looking for." A smile tugged onto my lips. But that smile suddenly dropped when I realized she was offline. Which meant I was unable to message her.
"Fuck." I mumbled under my breath.
