(Luna's Pov)
Spring was in full bloom. Only small piles of snow littered the school grounds, and I found myself a bit happier than usual.

I said good day to everyone, even the Slytherins who particularly didn't like me. I hummed a bit. The last of the mistletoe was taken down as well, which made me a bit happy. No more nargles to have to worry about.

And while I was skipping about the halls, it came to me. I should visit Neville, to see what I was doing. Maybe we could go to our spot by the thestrals.

I turned on my heel to go to the Gryffindor tower. I hummed a bit as I went along, enjoying the afternoon.

I rounded the corner, and I bumped into someone. "I'm sorry," I said quickly, and I looked up and gasped.

It was Neville. With his nose bleeding and one of his eyes closed.

We were in the kitchens with the house elves. I had given him a rag to hold his nose with, and I pressed a cold cloth to his swollen eye.

"Neville! What happened?" I asked, incredibly worried. I brushed some of his hair out of the way of his face. A couple house elves stood timidly by, waiting for any order. I nodded and waved them off, and told them I was satisfied. I also thanked them.

Neville sighed. "I was walking in the halls, and I saw Malfoy. I was going to keep walking, but he cornered me. He told me it was hilarious for us to be dating. I told him he was an idiot, and Crabbe punched me."

I bit my lip. "Oh, Neville. You're so brave. But you're eye...it looks pretty bad." Neville looked down.

I smiled. "I think your nose stopped bleeding." He put the rag down. The minute he did, a house elf took it and thanked him. Why, I don't know. House elves are too kind.

I soaked the cloth under some more cold water, and put it back on his eye. "You are a true Gryffindor. Why do you always doubt yourself?"

Neville shrugged. "While I was being a 'true Gryffindor', I got punched in the eye." I shook my head. "That's not the point, Neville. You're a true Gryffindor when you defend anyone, regardless of the consequences."

Neville smiled, and then winced a bit at the cold rag. "Sorry." I apologized. And then I smiled, and kissed his forehead. "Better?"

Neville grinned. "Yeah."
