The Nightshade Labyrinth pulsed around them, the air thick with the scent of damp roses and old blood. No torches burned. No sun shone. Yet they could see — bathed in the soft glow of a moon that didn't exist.

The Godsworn moved as one, weapons and spells ready.

Alexander led the way, his Thunder Gauntlet crackling faintly. "She knows we're coming."

"I hope she's scared," Selene muttered, clutching her staff, pink light glowing at the edges.

Thalor scoffed. "Nyx? Afraid? We should be so lucky."

A sudden pulse of magic swept through the corridor — and the walls dissolved.

The team now stood inside a vast spiral arena, layered with night-thorned vines and cracked marble. Above, the sky was starless — a dome of endless black. In the center, two figures emerged from the shadows, each more terrifying than the last.

The first was wreathed in shadow, skin pale as bone, eyes dark as oblivion — the face of death itself.

Thanatos. The god of peaceful death.

Beside him stood chaos personified: a woman with flowing crimson hair, lips twisted in a sardonic smile, and eyes like blood rubies. She held a dagger in one hand, dripping ink-black venom.

Eris. The goddess of strife and discord.

"Welcome," Eris drawled, as the door behind the Godsworn sealed with a hiss. "Nyx sends her regards."

Thanatos said nothing. His presence alone chilled the chamber, as though hope itself refused to breathe in his presence.

Alexander stepped forward, unsheathing his sword. "We're not here for pleasantries."

"You seek the sun child," Eris purred, walking barefoot across the floor, every step blooming black roses. "So bright. So loyal. So... easily broken."

Selene's staff lit up in a swirl of pink light. "We'll break you first."
