"I know that this is your first day in class. However, I'd like a volunteer to demonstrate how a demon is to be killed quickly and easily." The teacher, Ms. Cross, announces. A girl that's younger than me raises her hand, she must have a rich family to get in at her age. Mr. Mathews said we can bring our weapons to our classes, as long as we only use them on demons, unless a teacher says otherwise. I get ready to stand and I have my hand on my sword. At the corner of my eye, I see the boy next to me look in my direction then back to the front.
"Alright, I'm going to release this demon. Are you ready?" Ms. Cross asks. The girl takes a dagger out, chuckles and giggles escape from student's mouths. Ms. Cross takes that as a cue, she releases the demon. It's a lesser one, although, it has poison sacks. If you don't cut it right, the poison could spray at your skin and kill you slowly. Upon being summoned a demon will instantly try to kill whomever it sees first. If caught in a cage for too long, it will be even more merciless. This demon is black, its horns are short which means it's young, it's small only maybe four and a half feet tall, its eyes are pure black, and it has claws at the ends of its four fingers. The demon lunges at the girl, she slices its stomach a little. She stumbles and falls. The demon regains its composure sooner than the girl, before it can make a fatal blow. My sword is piercing its heart and missing the two poison sacks completely.
"I was hoping you would interfere, Lillian." Ms. Cross comments.
"I'd help anyone with the first chance I had." I reply taking one of her chalks and drawing the same mark as the night before on my sword. The black blood disappears.
"What kind of runes did you use?" She asks, I smirk. Without hesitation I slip my sweatshirt off to show the whole class the marks all along my muscular arms.
"These marks are forbidden." The teacher states.
"The warlock, in which I lived with, lent me her books and spells ever since I was a child. Every mark and rune in those books was branded into my memory." I explain dully. Someone raises their hand, Ms. Cross calls on them.
"Why are those marks forbidden?" He asks.
"They involve cutting of the flesh, the deeper the blade the longer the mark or rune lasts. Some were permanent most were not. The council forbade anyone to use these marks in fear they would fall into the wrong hands, or that more people would bleed out from these self inflicted injuries." I explain. "Every book was burnt, or at least most were." I walk back to my seat with my sheathed sword and sweatshirt. Eyes follow me, but I leave my face blank.
"Lillian, I'd like to speak with you after class." Ms. Cross says, I give a small nod. She cuts into the dead demon, and shows everyone where the poison sacks are. Once class is over and everyone is gone, I walk up to the teacher's desk.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" I ask.
"Just because you have experience with slaying demons, doesn't mean you can show off." She replies.
"I was trying to help, if I hadn't then that girl would've-."
"Gotten really hurt? Died? No, instead she was humiliated. I would have interfered, I don't need your help. Just sit back and learn, that's all I ask. You are dismissed." She grabs her papers off her desk, along with her coffee. She walks out the door and I follow.

"I am Mr. Guy, but you will call me sir! I am your training teacher, or if you want to call this gym that's fine too! Starting tomorrow you will be assigned to wear gym uniforms! Am I clear?!" The trainer yells.
"Yes sir!" Everyone yells back, except for me. I smirk, Mr. Guy walks up to me and glares. I meet his glare head on while the class watches.
"I didn't hear you!" He yells.
"That's because I don't have anything to learn or say." I remark. Gasps trail down the line of people. Before the teacher can say another word, the bell rings. There are only four classes for eight hours total every day, except today. Today we stay in our classes for half an hour each. This year is split up into different classes, like a normal school. I walk out with everyone else, this is going to be a fun year.
"I can't figure out if you're brave or just stupid." Sebastian walks up to me. Unfortunately we are in the same classes.
"When I first started killing demons, that's the same thing I thought every morning." I reply then speed walk back to the dorm.
"Hey wait," Sebastian comes up to me again, "when you first started?" I don't say anything else but I keep walking. I'm telling people too much about me, and I know next to nothing about everyone else.
"Where did you come from, like what pack?" I ask.
"Well, I was found in the woods and taken in. The alpha made me his adopted son, so that'll make me alpha in a few years." Sebastian replies.
"Why did you come here then?"
"Demons are hurting members of the pack, I want to protect them." He answers.
"Is there a special girl back home?" I tease.
"I told you not to tease me, but no. I haven't found my soulmate yet." He sounds sad.
"Oh, well at least you'll be able to focus on school. Right?" I try to cheer him up. He gives a small smile. I look at the scene around me, we're in the empty courtyard. There's a group of boys sitting at the fountain staring at Sebastian and I. We keep walking.
"Are you alright?" Sebastian asks.
"No she isn't." A husky voice replies to Sebastian. A boy around our age stands in front of us, with five boys and one girl fanned out on both sides of him.
"Vampires aren't allowed at this school." Sebastian says.
"No dah." The girl says as she chuckles. The boy in front has neon green spiked hair, the roots are dark brown, he's tall and muscular, and his eyes are all black. The girl is almost as tall as me in her flats, her brown hair lines her jaw bone, her eyes are also black now. Someone moves in a black blur towards Sebastian. I'm not quick enough to block the person. He's hovering over Sebastian's neck, obviously showing control over thirst.
"Come with us, like our princess told us. Or else he dies." The one with the green hair smirks.
"You know, if you kill him you'll have his family after you. I'll be tracking you down, and that's easy enough. When I do I'll make you suffer, I've done it before to other vampires. Don't push my buttons, or you'll be the one in the middle of the explosion." I give him an evil grin. Before anyone can do anything, the vampire that's hovering over Sebastian's neck starts screaming.
"What's going on?!" The green haired one asks. "Are you doing this?" He points to me, I put my hands up.
"Why would you think that?" Sebastian asks. The vampire doesn't get a chance to answer, his screams echo through the courtyard. Once all the vampires are just ash blowing in the wind, is when a man walks out of the shadows of trees. He has my jet black hair, small nose, and fair skin. His eyes are a glowing dark blue, his building is muscular, and he's much taller than me.
"No need to thank me, I was only protecting someone dear to me." The man stares into my eyes.
"Who are you?" I ask.
"How rude of me, I am Filus Samus. You, Lillian, are my daughter."
