Chapter XIV

They come in groups of threes, but in the end they all die. I watch as a wave of higher ranked demons run into battle. The students are overwhelmed with the newcomers. Some are slaughtered only feet away from me. I need to find Sebastian. With that in mind I find myself running back to find him. I kill every demon that I jog past. I stop to look around me, slaughter and chaos is all around. It reminds me of how we get our meat, unneeded deaths. Everyone had something they wanted, everyone that's fighting. They would somehow benefit us all, now most of them will sleep for eternity. The rest will only survive knowing they could die at any moment, on any job to kill these harmful demons. The dead won't return home to their families, I envy them for even having a family. I never was raised with that luxury.
"Lillian," a familiar voice calls. My head snaps in the direction of the voice. Sebastian is pinned to the ground by a muscular demon. This large demon is pushing a blade close to Sebastian's throat, the werewolf is pushing away and almost succeeding too. I call to whatever magic I can use to my benefit right now. A... shadow crawls up my arm, almost like one of Lilith's snakes. The opaque magic wraps around my hand and fingers, it strikes. The demon looks up with wild eyes, an expression of pain shows on its face before Sebastian pushes it off his body. The demon's flesh folds in on itself, before turning into a pool of black blood.
"Thanks," my soulmate breaths heavily. I scan his body with my eyes, there are a few scratches on his limbs and chest. Nothing major that I can see. One the man catches his breath, he looks at me sadly.
"What's wrong?" He asks, before I can ask him the same.
"I was looking for you. Promise me you won't play hero," I look him dead in the eye.
"Look who's talking, going around killing every enemy you see," he doesn't back down, "saving people when it isn't too late." I know I lost this argument, but I look around. No demons are bothering us and I find it almost silent. I look around, there is still a lot of fighting but for some reason the battle field seems quiet. Almost silent with muffled screams and clashing metal.
"Are you enjoying yourselves?" A familiar feminine voice asks. Blue flames leap from my palm and shoot in the direction of her voice.
"That isn't the way to greet your mother, Lillian." Lilith's voice is stern, almost commanding.
"Die," I say through clenched teeth.
"Don't be that way," she sighs.
"I said, die," my hand shoots out. The shadowy tendrils of magic shoot from my palm. They wrap around Lilith, she smirks. I use my free hand to call upon the blue flames. The sight makes the snide expression leave the she-devil's face. The flames burn her body once again, instead all that is left is a snake. I walk over and tap the snake. A white, almost glass looking, sphere surrounds the remains. It disappears, and sounds are no longer muffled.
"How-," Sebastian stops when I hug him. I haven't touched him in, roughly a month. I welcome the bond to send sparks through my body. I pull away before saying,
"We need to end this." He nods. We run around helping to finish off the demons. Once the closest to the school are dead, majority of the school advances to help the others. My familiar lands next to me.
"What do you want me to do?" She asks. I whisper in her ear and she flies off. Before advancing with everyone else I summon the familiar that never changed its form. It appears in front of me. I give it orders, the demon bounds towards the large demons that are entering the field. I run and dodge demons as I follow the familiar. We get to a meadow, instead of flowers there are a few bodies. Bodies of those who made it so far and came so close to victory. There are boulders with an almost mirror looking surface. Demons spill out and run towards the field.
"I finally get to meet my half daughter," a deep voice rumbles the bones in my body.
"This is her? Seems weak to me," a different, disapproving, voice follows.
"First impressions are everything," a different voice sighs.
"Where is Abaddon?" Another voice asks.
"Where's Lilith?" A different asks. I mentally smirk at the five remaining Princes of Hell, but my expression never wavers from being emotionless. I bring my hand up almost to my face, and keep my palm open.
"I wonder where they could be," I sigh as both orbs that contain their remains appear; floating above my hand, "impressions are everything. Did I make a good one?" Their eyes show rage and power. I get ready to fight, and I'm not willing to lose.

~Hey guys, sorry for the long wait. I've been working on other books and it is all my fault because I forgot about this book. Go ahead, rant all you want about the long wait but I really do intend on finishing this soon. I want at least twenty to thirty chapters. So... not too much longer.

See you in the next chappy!! Luv u all!!
