The Demon Slayer {Draft 1}(Under heavy editing)

Chapter VI

I watch as Sasha screams and stares at the bloody demon in horror. Her partner's faceless head is clutched in its hand, while his body lays in pieces on the ground. The demon has no signs of eyes, it looks zombified, it's about ten and a half feet tall, it stands on its hind legs which look like very muscular stallion legs, its top half resembles a furry man with abs, it has a lion's tail but more like a long whip, its skin is jet black, and its snout resembles a lion's. "This must be their natural form," I think to myself. Sasha steps away from the familiar. The demon doesn't seem to have noticed us. Its head snaps in Sasha's direction, it hobbles over to her. It reaches for her as it gets closer, Sasha trips on something and falls.

"Sasha, move!" I yell. This gets the demon's attention. It turns towards me; I get in a low fighting position.

"May I help Lillian?" My familiar asks.

"Stay here and protect Sebastian," I reply. Before Sebastian can protest; I'm on the demon's right side.

"Over here!" I yell. It turns towards me and charges. I take my sword out and unsheath it. The demon's head crashes into me. I fly back and flip so I'm feet first at a tree. Sebastian yells out. I push off the trunk and point the blade at its eyeless face. The silver cuts into its face, this obviously doesn't kill it. I land in a crouch, the demon screams in agony. I've never killed a familiar, this will be hard. It's tail wraps around one of my ankles. I hang upside down and raise an eyebrow at the demon. I slice off most of its tail, it makes a high pitched inhuman scream. I drop and land on my hands and knees. I huff at the sudden pain in my limbs. Now the familiar grabs me in its giant hand. It squeezes me, I yelp out in pain. I pray that my familiar and Sebastian's will keep him safe. Black dots swim into my vision then keep multiplying until I can't see anything but darkness.

"I should've known you'd be pathetic and weak! You are not worth my troubles, unless you prove yourself." Lilith's voice rings through my head, I know that she's says the last part more to herself than me. This darkness is silent, I want to stay here. It feels warm, which doesn't make sense. I let myself grow limp, but something stops me from keeping this darkness.

"Lillian!" I hear Sebastian's voice in front of me but far away. Realization hits me. I can't leave Sebastian alone, or to die to this demon.

Light makes me squint, my eyes adjust to the scene quickly. Sebastian's familiar is holding off the rogue demon from getting closer to Sebastian. It's almost an even match. I try to pull my way towards them. Sebastian's familiar disappears once his body hits the ground. My familiar runs up to it and starts hitting it with her bony tail.

"Stop this at once!" My familiar yells at the demon. It keeps coming, the rogue demon doesn't hesitate once. This gives me an idea but I don't know if it'll work.

"Hey!" I yell at the demon. It turns to me and runs until it's in front of me. The demon grabs me again, it squeezes me, again, but harder.

"Put. Me. Down!" I pause between each word. The demon freezes and places me on the ground. Then it stands there, waiting. "You won't kill anyone from this day on unless told to; you will be my minion to control. You will follow my orders, or else eternity will be painful." I pick my sword up from the ground and swing it through the demons midsection. It disappears, I know it isn't dead. Familiars don't die, they merely disappear until summoned again. I re-sheath my sword. My legs grow weak, and someone catches me. I look up into gold eyes and a very handsome face, Sebastian. He picks me up bridal style. I look over to where Sasha tripped, but she's gone.

"What do you think happened?" My familiar asks as she walks next to Sebastian.

"That boy lost control of his familiar and it went on a killing rampage," I reply. I feel so weak right now, I can't even walk. I cuddle deeper into Sebastian's warm chest to keep my thoughts at bay. We walk back to the courtyard, then to our dorm. My familiar follows without a word.

Now I sit on my bed making a Healing Mark on my arm. Sebastian watches, I hiss in pain as the mark turns blood red and travels up my arm to the injured spots. My shoulder hurts so much, I pop it back into place. A sigh of relief escapes my lips at the same time as Sebastian. Within seconds his lips are on mine. I tangle my fingers in his hair as his hands are placed firmly on the bed at my sides. He pulls away and leans his forehead against mine.

Okay, not really a cliff hanger. The next chapter will be I promise! The next chapter won't really have very much to do with the school that they go to. Also, this is where Lillian and Sebastian's relationship will come into play.......... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! So as always...
