The day had come. The day when Stevie and Lindsey would be flying to New York to be with their daughter through the birth of their Grandchild, Kristen being the one to completely bring them apart, not allowing Lindsey to even sit next to Stevie on the plane. Neither of them barely spoke a word as they waited for take off, only to discuss the living arrangements. Kristen made Lindsey book a hotel suite for the week, Stevie staying with her daughter in her condo; it would be hard for her to not be in that bed with out Lindsey. He could see it on her face, all the pain and agony that she was physically feeling. She could hide nothing from him as their connection was so deep.
When they finally had a chance to be alone with Kristen heading to the bathroom, Lindsey got up immediately and sat next to Stevie, rubbing her thigh and then taking her hand to kiss.
"Lindsey, someone might see us," Stevie whispered as she fought the urge to kiss him.
"You look absolutely helpless right now, I feel like I need to hold you," wrapping an arm around her.
"I'm not a damsel in distress," she pushed his arm off of her, secretly wanting it there, just trying to show pride like usual. Stevie never wanted to appear weak, even though she could be at times. All she wanted was for him to fight for her.
He felt like he had been punched in the gut as he jumped seats to get away from her, leaning his head back in to the headrest, bouncing his knee up and down. Lindsey HATED it when she acted sour towards him. "You keep acting like that, go ahead, Steves, but what I feel is everything and more when it comes to you, and I'm going to prove it to you."
"Really?" looking in his direction as she leaned against the armrest, "I see you still haven't made up your mind whether or not Isabelle and I are good enough for you."
"Do NOT make this trip painful for me, Stevie," Lindsey pointed to the floor, "And you have NO right to make me choose between my family and what you gave away."
Stiffening against the chair, Stevie dug her nails in to the armrests, but then Kristen came back to interrupt them, sitting right between the two. The rest of the flight was almost unbearable, as Stevie was fighting tears and Lindsey was boiling mad.
Landing, Isabelle was waiting with her fiancé, waving excitedly when she saw the face of her mother and father; her smile fading when she saw Kristen. She never met her father's wife and she honestly didn't plan to, especially today.
"Mom! Dad!" Isabelle lovingly took both of her parents in to her arms, kissing them both on the cheeks as they were reunited for the second time, "You look fantastic as always! So precious, I love you, guys!" placing her parent's hands together as Kristen butted her way through the two of them, breaking their hold.
"Honey," Lindsey began as Stevie literally took three steps back to then take this time to greet Steven, "This is my wife, Kristen, she was more than happy to be here with us to welcome the baby."
Kristen took Isabelle's hand, shaking it strongly as Isabelle barely kept her hold, "So nice to meet you, Isabelle, I've heard SO much about you! You are definitely beautiful!" putting on a fake smile.
"Thanks. Nice to meet you, too, ma'am," letting go of Kristen's hand in a cold manner but smiling once she saw her mother's disapproval, "I honestly had no idea that you were coming, Kristen, I'm not sure where I can fit you in my apartment."
"Oh, not to worry," holding on to her husband, "We booked a hotel for the week, it's no problem at all."
Lindsey half smiled at his daughter, knowing the same pain was going through her as her mother, "You'll have more space with out us, sweetie, it's no big deal. I promise, angel."
