Hours passed, I finally gained a bit of strength the lift me off the ground. I turned my head, looking around for anything.
Pitch black, I couldn't see anything, I was nowhere.
The light, still as bright as ever, continued to shine over me like a ray of sunshine. It felt warm and welcoming, as if all my pain and troubles were lifted off my shoulders. Relief and warmth filling me as I stared into the bright light, I wanted to go deeper into the loving feeling."Fawn." A familiar voice rang through my ears.
Lilian.
As quick as I could, I turned my head to face with a younger Lilian, she looked like a child. She was dressed in her blue pajamas with her hair sprawled everywhere, holding in one hand a small box. Her smile was a beautiful and big as ever. It warmed me inside, her smile crinkled to her eyes, which seemed to hold small galaxies. I smiled softy upon seeing my sister, feeling the tears rush to my eyes.
Another figure emerged from the dust.It was me.
A much younger version of myself, about 10 or 11. My body forming itself from the grey dust, it ran towards Lilian, embracing her in a tight hug. Both giggling and smiling brightly. Carefully, the younger me took the box from Lilian, opening it and finding my grandmothers photo inside. I smiled at the warm memory of Christmas morning. I remembered Lilian gifting me that photo and how I cherished it.
The figures faded back to dust and into the darkness, soon more began to appear around me. Lily emerged from the dust, kneeled, she flipped her head back swiftly showering herself with the grey pigment, she was in her black one piece, laughing. We were at the pools that day, She ran across the blackness jumping into dust, disappearing. Another memory formed, I sat crying uncontrollably, I sniffed as I recalled that distant vision. The day mother abandoned Lilian and I. Visions and memories of a younger Lilian appeared all around me. Scenes of fights, love and sadness, surrounded me. Until all disappearing, except one, one that I couldn't remember.
Lilian sat in a hospital room, her face in her hands. She sobbed uncontrollably, whist a doctor stood nearby, soon turning to dust, disappearing, nothing but his voice to speak.
"Im sorry about your loss, Ms. Eden."
The words echoed in my mind, I could feel anything. I was numbed as I saw my sisters face lower. My face paled, Lilian looked up at me, starring into my teary eyes,
"I love you so much, Fawn. Im so sorry I couldn't help you. Im so sorry, that I left you. Im sorry for not being there. But know that, I will always love you. No matter where you are, you'll be with me forever. I love you Fawn Rose Eden." She held out her hand, I quickly reached out to touch her.
My heart sank and a lump formed in my throat, I watched my sister fade into dust along with the other memories. I began to panic, her hand disappeared and we never touched, everything inside me screamed with anger and sadness."No, Lilian! Please come back!" I jumped from under the light and ran.
I ran into the darkness searching for Lilian."I love you, Fawn."
I sniffed as her words surrounded me in the pitch black."And I , you, Lilian."
