I swung myself down from the tree. I could still hear the hooves and gunshots in the distance. Alas, they were becoming fainter. I had to reach her before it was too late. A new sound was audible, a different sound, a sound I had never heard before, yet it seemed so incredibly familiar. It sounded like ravens, but not a raven's crow, a sound so difficult to describe, almost a ravens song.I looked above me to find a flock of deep blue, almost purple, Ravens lowering down. Before I knew it, immense claws gripped hold of my arm, and lifted me clean off the ground. I could tell I was flying faster than I could run. Soon enough I reached the two men and their horses, about six feet behind my sister.
Down, I thought.
To my utter surprise, the ravens lowered and I was able to grab my sister's shoulders.
The men stopped at once that I came into view.
This seems weird, I thought. Turn around.
The ravens did as I thought: they turned around and came to a stop in front of the guards.
The overwhelmed guards got off their horses and kneeled down, put the tip of their sword blades onto the oak-leaf- covered ground and leaned their heads onto the sword handle.
'Your majesty...'
