Cassie's heart sank when the knob only turned 45 degrees. It was still locked. She knocked on the door but nobody came. They must in some other part of the house right now, Cassie thought. She tried to knock again but was grabbed by Darren.

He threw her against the floor. Cassie tried to crawl away, but was pulled up to her feet by someone. She heard Darren screaming. Her eyes had adjusted to the dark, but she could not see him. Occasionally she thought she heard the sounds of someone being beaten. Cassie grabbed her dropped flashlight and knife.

Cassie took a moment to think through  what had just happened. She was confused and terrified. Her adrenaline was coursing through her body. She thought back to Dr. Harmon's warning.

The possibility of the house being filled with ghosts seemed much more likely than it had before. She took advantage of the opportunity without Darren and proceeded to run to the door and try to pick the lock with her knife. Her hands were shaking from the adrenaline risk and she could not pick the lock.

She soon realized that the screams had stopped and the only thing she could hear was her panting. She turned around and shone her flashlight around the room. There was nothing there. She turned around again and began to knock on the door again.

"Guys! I want to come out now! Please unlock the door!" She panicked when she heard no response. She called out again before giving up. She turned around again. As her light filled the room, she saw a tall blond, curly haired teen.

By now her shock factor was obliterated, but if it wasn't Cassie would have screamed. She was staring at the Tate Langdon. "You... You are..." She trailed off. What do say to a dead murderer, she thought.

He gave her a small, almost unnoticeable smirk and then turned around and vanished. Cassie's thoughts were a mess. By now she definitely believed that there are ghosts in this house.

She started pounding on the basement door and screaming for the others to let her out. She needed to get back to the office. She needed answers. When nobody responded after five minutes and 30 seconds, she calculated at what angle and how hard to kick the door handle.

She kicked the handle and it clattered to the floor. Cassie then pushed open the door. She quickly climbed the stairs, only to find that the space where her items were was completely empty. She called out for Sarah and heard no reply.

"Damn it," she said. They must ha e left, she thought. Cowards. She ran up to the second floor and into the office, only to find it empty. "Hello!" She yelled. "I need answers! What the hell is going on?!"

Suddenly, a hand covered her mouth and pulled her backwards. She tried to free herself, but whoever was holding her whispered: "Shhh. Be quiet. The asshole down stairs won't be knocked out forever. Plus, a few of us here don't think visitors should be given the privilege to leave."
